Part 3

Y/n's POV Next Day

I woke up in my bed with Athena at my feet staring at my ceiling. I couldn't stop thinking about letting another civilian die. I got up looking at my clock as Athena jumped down walking to her bowls.

Me: You think someday we can sleep in past 4:00?

She tilted her head at me looking like she's saying "Really"

As I began filling her water and food bowl I heard knocking at the door. They opened the door as I set the bowls down. Athena was looking behind her with a quiet growl. I looked behind me seeing Valkyrie in the entry.

Me: Hey, need something?

Valk: I heard about what happened.

Me: Don't worry its not my first time seeing a hostage die. Or getting my stomach ripped open.

Valk: I know it's hard no matter how many die. Unless your name is "Fuze".

Me: He's really that bad?

Valk: Don't get me started. Anyways I thought I could do you a favor and walk Athena for you.

Me: As much as I would like to sleep in there's a problem, she pretty much only responds to commands in Danish. Plus I never let anyone else take her.

Valk: Well how about we work on that, I'll come with until I can get her to listen to me.

Me: I'm not sure if its possible, but let's give it a shot. I hope you are used to three miles.

As we entered the track, Valkyrie began stretching as I strapped up my vest.

Valk: Why are you wearing that?

Me: Oh, on the last mile I hook her up and run.

Valk: Really?

I put her vest on and attached the hooks and stood up. As I spun slowly with my hands out she began to let out a laugh. I pulled the strap releasing her, as she landed she ran to my right side and sat.

Me: Ready? Athena Lad os gå.

As we ran Meghan had to catch up with us. As he ran we would talk about previous missions she went on, where she was from, and about Athena. As I got to my last lap I stopped to get Athena hooked up but I had an idea.

Me: You want to try it?

Valk: Sure why not.

As I adjusted my vest to fit her see seemed excited to carry Athena. As she crouched down next to her and tried to hook her up. She got up and started running around with my dog laughing about it. After about maybe ten minutes she pulled her off and sat next to me.

Valk: Well that was fun, but you should go rest before the big event.

Me: What event?

Valk: Our monthly Attackers vs. Defenders match. Winner gets the week off from training.

(Timeskip afternoon)

I stood outside as everyone where lined up in their designated area as I stood in the middle.

Me: Umm, where do I go?

IQ: Over here.

I we walked over and stood between her and Blitz. In front of me was Meghan and Tina. They seemed a bit jealous of Monika petting and kissing Athena. She stood up as Thatcher and Tachanka entered.

Thatcher: Alright lads, you know the deal winning squad gets the week off.

Tanchanka: Don't worry my sqaud will win.
