A/N: I've come to realize I haven't asked what the latest ships are for some time.  Hit me; I'm curious.  Also, don't actually hit me. That's scary.

Iroh was resting, as there was little else to do in his small cell. For now, anyway. A ray of sunlight filtered through his small window, bringing light and warmth to the dreary room. His hands rested beneath his head. Anyone might have thought he was just bored.

But when Amaya returned, it was his signal from his silent ally that the coast was clear.

He could never see her.

She was that presence just beyond his awareness, at the corner of his eye. Mute but warm.

Like sunshine.

But he needed to focus. So he began to do a series of sit-ups, grunting from the effort. There was much work to be done. He didn't have time to be wasting away.
