Accidental Avatar 3: Totally Lit

FRIEND COME HOME!

At some point, we all seemed to have drifted off and fallen asleep, only to be woken up suddenly by Toph.

"They're coming!" she cried excitedly. "Mangetsu and Sokka are coming back!"

Aang and Katara woke up gasping and smiling excitedly, while Mogui just groaned and rolled over.

"Five more minutes, please," he moaned.

"Josh ate the enchilada!" Muteki said as he woke up with a start. "Wait, what?"

"Rise and shine, sleepyheads," I grinned. "The sarcastic duo has returned."

"Ugh," Mogui groaned loudly.

The rest had already run to meet the two.

"Hey, guys," Sokka called cheerfully. "What are you doing?"

"Wait!" Mangetsu ducked away as the other three threw themselves into a group hug with the two, barely managing to avoid the affection.

"I see you've learned to dodge," Muteki commented as he came to stand next to me, just short of the pile of affection and limbs.

"Guys!" Aang cried.

"You're back!" Toph added.

"We missed you so much!" Katara said.

"Say something funny!" Aang said, staring at Sokka expectantly.

"Funny how?" Sokka frowned.

Aang and Katara burst out laughing, then turned to Mangetsu with the same expectant expression.

"No."

Wow, they will laugh at anything. The two burst into another round of laughter even as Mangetsu sighed heavily.

"The heck is their problem?" he demanded.

"I don't know," Toph said, turning away with a blush and smile. "They missed you guys or something. I didn't care."

"Thanks," Sokka said lightly. "That warms my heart."

"You are the absolute worst li-ow," Sokka elbowed Mangetsu, who returned the gesture with a kick to the shin.

Note to self. Mangetsu aims for the shins. Mind the shins.

"Anyway, we need your help," Sokka said brightly.

"We do?" Mangetsu frowned, then blinked and nodded sagely. "We do."

We followed the two of them back to the crater from the night before and listened as the boys explained what they wanted the meteorite for.

"I thought you weren't interested in this?" I questioned Mangetsu quietly.

"And then I was, problem?"

"Nope, none here," I shook my head. 

 What an odd character.
