Zuko woke with a start. He was home. Back in the capital again. The footsteps that woke him faded into nothing as Zuko pulled himself to a sitting position. He had that dream again. The sounds of her screams still rang in his ears. It haunted him.

He stood, shaking his head to clear away the last of his nightmare. A few steps, and he was outside the door. Windows were open, letting in the brilliant moonlight. The way it danced on the drapes reminded him of how the sun would catch her hair.

Noone was there. The source of the footsteps had receded into nothing. But there was something left behind. A large scroll had been propped up right next to his door, and he stared at it.

'Are you going to pick it up?' Other Amaya said.

He reached out for it. It was light, considering its size. The seal broke open, and he read the first line aloud, "You need to know the story of your great-grandfather's demise. It will reveal your own destiny."

Zuko snapped the scroll closed and looked around, hoping to discover the source of the scroll. Who could have known about his inner turmoil? And who would have cared enough to find this for him?

The first two to come to mind were Amaya and his uncle, but no... it couldn't be either of them. Maybe Mai?

He turned back into his bedroom, softly closing the door behind him.
