The suspension was finally done with. Melissa promised Simon not to bring her knife to school ever again. She walked in the classroom.
"Look who's back!?" Gwen said.
Melissa walked in. The class clapped.
"Melissa, you're back," Mrs. Burke said.
"Yes. Mrs. Burke, this will never happen again. I promise."
"Good. I promise to treat you like everybody else. I'm still a huge fan of your uncle."
"You go ahead."
Melissa sat down.
"Before I say any more, I would like to announce that there will be auditions being held for the talent show that will be taking place this Saturday evening. Everyone can sign up!"
"Can I sign up too. Even when I just back from a suspension?"
"Of course you can!"
"Yes!" Melissa whispered.
