Melissa went out of the kitchen and into the lobby.
"Where were you?" Hadley asked.
"Yorgo is teaching me how to cook."
"Oh really, you could've asked me or Simon."
"First of all, the only thing Uncle Simon can cook is microwavable stuff. Second, Yorgo is a professional in his craft."
"So is Simon but he hasn't done it since Days To Remember killed him off! Melissa, I can teach you."
"How long has it been since you cooked Hadley? Since you started this hotel business?"
"Honestly yes but I still know. I can but if you really want Yorgo to teach you, it's ok. Ok?"
"Ok."
"Ok."
Simon walked in the lobby.
"Melissa, just the person I was looking for! I have made plans for me and you tomorrow."
"Plans? Plans for what?"
"As your uncle and legal guardian, we should bond a bit more than we already have been. I am going to take you out to eat for breakfast. I have a cupin from McDonalds to buy a mcmuffin, get one free."
"Cupin? You mean coupon."
"Melissa, don't you make fun of the way I say words. Very disrespectful."
"I'm so sorry Uncle Simon, it's just so funny. The way you pizza, peetza!"
Melissa was laughing so hard, she plumped herself on the couch.
"Oh yeah, well, how about the way you say America, Americer."
"You too Uncle Simon."
"Yes, that's way the English say it."
"Yes, but at least we dont say heatoose! You should've been taught that in english class."
"Melissa, you are a naughty girl, a very naughty girl! I hope you get coal this Christmas from Santa!"
"Says the man who's over fifty and still believes in Santa Claus!"
That got snort from Hadley.
"She got you there Simon."
"I don't care if she got me and I'm gonna get her in a minute if she doesn't stop disrespecting her elders. She may be my niece but believe me, I'll punish her like a parent. What would your mother say if she was still-"
"Oh don't you dare bring my mother up!"
Melissa ran upstairs.
"Get back here right this-"
"Simon, leave her be...peetza."
Hadley giggled a bit. Simon glared at her.
"Sorry, it really is funny. Come on, admit it. It's like Lucy making fun of Ricky's accent."
Simon tried not to laugh but he smiled instead.
"It is actaully. I'll let Melissa slide on this particular subject."
Then, they burst out laughing.
"We're still going out for breakfast in the morning."
"And, she forgot to tell you, Yorgo is gonna teach her how to cook."
"Really, he's gonna be a great teacher."
"Yeah, and he is a professional. And it would be best not to mention Sarah in front of her, I could tell she's still grieving."
Simon nodded.
