Prayers

Melissa was early at school, she had to wait outside of the homeroom classroom. She was still crying a bit. Gwen saw her and sat next to her.

"Are you ok?"

"Do I look ok?"

"Guess not. Can't believe he went off at you, like it was all your fault."

"He actually screamed at me. I can't believe he did that. He never did that before, especially when he had insomnia. He may have been grumpy before but not like this!"

Gwen hugged Melissa. Mrs. Burke walked to them.

"Melissa? Is everything ok?"

"We're fine. We can handle it," Gwen said.

"Let Melissa speak please?"

Melissa spoke up.

"Uncle Simon has insomnia and I'm very worried."

"I'm a Christian woman, the best thing to do is pray for him."

"We'll try that," Melissa said.

Mrs. Burke smiled and left.

"Let's pray," Gwen said.

Melissa nodded. They prayed for him.

That afternoon, they got to the hotel. Hadley was in the lobby like usual.

"Hi kids. How was school?"

"Great!"

"Melissa, are you ok?" Hadley asked as she hugged her.

"I'm alright. Where's Uncle Simon?"

"Look upstairs in his room. Be quiet."

"He's asleep!?"

Hadley nodded. Melissa ran upstairs but she stopped in his hallway. She quietly opened the door. He was sleeping on the bed, on his left side.

"He's finally sleeping!" Melissa whispered to herself.
