After his sister passes away unexpectedly, Simon Ferguson gets custody of his niece Melissa. Melissa enjoys life at the Metropolitan Hotel owned by Hadley Martin and her kids Gwen and Daniel.
Simon was wrapping presents for everyone he knew and loved. He was wrapping a present for Melissa when he noticed a big brown book under his bed. He decided to take a short break and skim through it.
The first picture he saw was of him and Sarah. They were small children. It was a cute photo.
The next picture was of him as a toddler.

The next picture was of Sarah holding a newborn baby Melissa in the hospital. Simon smiled.
He flipped to the next picture when Daniel knocked.
"Come in."
He walked in.
"Hi Simon."
"Hellloooo."
"I'm kinda bored. You mind if I help you with gift wrapping.
"Not at all."
"What is that?"
"Old photos. Wanna see?"
"Sure."
Daniel sat next to Simon so they can look at it together. Simon flipped to the beginning.
"That is me and my sister when we were kids."
Daniel nodded. They flipped to the next one.
"That's me as a toddler. Look cute don't I?"
"I guess so."
Simon chuckled.
"And that is a picture of my sister holding Melissa after she was delivered. Let's wrap these gifts!"
He finished wrapping Melissa's gift.
"Melissa's gift."
"What is it?"
"David Bowie's new album Earthling. She'll love it."
"David Bowie's weird."
"Well, that's the beauty of him. Weird, but he makes music that will just blow your mind."
