"Melissa, you were never taught?"

"Mum tried to teach me but I was too scared. I've always been afraid to. I was hoping if you would teach me. Dad and I are going to spend the night at the Plaza tomorrow night, just me and him getting to know each other better."

"Why sure honey. You have a swimsuit?"

"Nope."

"I have an extra, you can borrow mine," Gwen said.

"Thank you Gwen!"

"You're welcome. It's in my bottom dresser drawer, it's a black and white two piece."

"Ok."

Melissa left to go get the suit. She was getting ready to walk downstairs with the suit on until Simon saw her.

"Wow, Melissa, look at you. Why are you wearing that, it's late in the fall?"

"Hadley's at the hotel pool, she's gonna teach me to swim."

"You? Swimming? Well this I gotta see!"

Simon followed her.

"You were always scared of getting in the water."

"I know Uncle Simon."

They walked in the pool room. Gwen looked at her.

"Melissa, that looks so good on you!"

"Thanks."

"Ok, let's get to it!" Hadley said.

Simon squat beside Hadley.

"First thing's first, get in the pool."

Melissa squat down. She was scared. Heavily breathing.

"Melissa, it's ok! The water's warm," Daniel said.

She smiled at him.

"You're so cute Daniel. Give me time, I'm learning, ok?"

Melissa stuck one foot in, it was warm. She got in, her feet touched the ground. They clapped.

"Good job! Now, lay down."

"Lay down!?"

"Yeah, just lay back in the water and you'll start floating."

Melissa got scared again but she laid back. She was floating for a few seconds but stood back up.

"Good job! You won't drown from floating, I promise," Hadley said.

"Lay on your belly," Simon said.

Melissa hesitated for a few seconds but she did it. She was swimming! Hadley gasped.

"Good job! You're swimming!"

"There's nothing to it!"

Melissa went underwater. She swam towards Simon and she dragged him in the water for laughs. Hadley, Gwen, and Daniel laughed.

"Melissa Sarah, you're gonna get it young lady!"

They jumped in and had some fun in the pool.

Soon, they were out of the pool drying off.

"That was fun!" Daniel said.

"It sure was, the first time we had fun as a family. I'm glad we did!"

"Thank you for that, that was first time I swam in many years," Simon said.

"Melissa, once you learn, it never leaves you," Hadley said.

Vincent was watching them without them noticing him.

"We make a good family," Melissa said to Hadley.

"We sure do Melissa, we sure do. I think you're prepared to swim with your father at the Plaza."

Hadley hugged her.
