CHAPTER 2 (REVENGE)
"Why is it like this here? They're so unfriendly! No one even tries to befriend or talk to me! In my old school, at least someone would try to talk to me, but here, they don't care—wait, why do I even care? Damn!" I continued to mess with my hair while reading a book. Meanwhile, Ponus was pretending to watch Kung Fu Panda again.
"Not everyone will like you here. Treat them as friends? They'll treat you as enemies. You should start trusting yourself, not the other way around."
"Why are they like this? The heck!" I closed my book and sat beside Ponus. I hugged him like he was a real teddy bear. I always felt comfortable with my robot.
"You know, I grew up with only one male friend. Why am I still acting like a child? It feels weird to have no friends because people think I'm strange."
"I'm your friend." I smiled. I knew. I moved closer to him.
"Who created you?" I stroked his head as we watched.
"The two people who created me were the greatest scientists of all time. They were the best couple who created an amazing robot—that's me. They made me because their daughter loved pandas so much. That's all I can say because that's all I remember."
After he answered, he flew in front of me. I was surprised when he suddenly changed shape.
"It's time for our nap." As I lay down, I picked up my laptop from the side. I opened it, and all sorts of data appeared.
"Who created Duke Island..." I hit enter, and tons of details came up. I clicked on a tab. My forehead wrinkled even more when I saw a familiar photo.
"I think I've seen him before," I said to myself as I read a few details. I stood up from my bed when I heard a faint rustling from the window. Just as I was about to approach, Ponus pulled me back. He shook his head, causing me to step back.
"Don't go out. It's dangerous." That's all he said as he closed the long tendrils on the windows and doors.
I tried to sleep, but I couldn't. That sound still bothered me.
I kept myself busy by staring at my room. It's like a mini-mansion. I'm still amazed that I can't see the door until I put my fingerprint on its knob. Truly exclusive for Camael Wise only. Ah, the power of technology.
"Sleep now, you have to wake up early."
As I closed my eyes, I suddenly realized why I came here. I don't mind not having friends to talk to because I'm here for my parents' wish, not just my dream.
"My brain feels like it's going to explode! I can't fit all the details I learned today into my damn brain! There's too much!" My forehead wrinkled as I read a book. I felt weak every time I saw the ten books I still needed to read and study today. Ponus was just pretending to look at me.
"You can do it." This robot is really grumpy. Should I break him? Pour alcohol on him and light him on fire? Smash him with a hammer? Drop him from the Imelda Building? Toss him into chemicals in the lab?
I rolled my eyes before looking at the oval. All our professors were there, fixing the machine underground. Every time I looked at them, I still couldn't believe what the hell was happening here.
"They're making the oval float. They created a machine that can make something heavy... fly on its own."
I was amazed at what I saw. When the man in the coat let go of the machine, the oval flew away.
"Nice invention," I said, closing my book, trying to remember what I had read earlier. I'm really stressed. I hate studying.
"Little do you know... you'll create a time machine?" Ponus asked as he massaged my senses. It's really hard to keep up. I felt like I really needed to study well even though I had stopped long ago.
