Explode
"Help! Help!" the students shout. We approached them without hesitation, but suddenly, a robot appeared.
I immediately dodged its attacks because I was already fainting. I had no strength left and felt extremely tired. All I could do was evade its strikes until I managed to press the button on its back, causing it to slowly shut down.
I led Simon into the tent. I was nervous while searching for the antidote that would strengthen our bodies for twenty-four hours. Simon took it because he knew we'd need to fight.
That was all Simon and I had left. When I found it, I immediately injected it into various parts of Simon's body—both arms, legs, neck, and sides. Simon began to recover gradually. After the process was complete, he stabbed me in the body.
Simon had administered a potent chemical, but its effects were severe after twenty-four hours. It could make you sleep for a whole day or even a whole week, as your body needed time to recover. Additionally, the antidote was numbing. We could get hurt, but the pain would be muted, though once the antidote wore off, the pain and soreness would return with a vengeance.
"I love you, love... I thought I was going to lose you."
"I love you too. You will never lose me... Simon."
"We have to help them." We immediately exited the tent and approached the students. We quickly cleared the area of debris. As soon as we did, more robots emerged.
A lot of robots.
I had no idea where they came from. Rald had said he had disabled all the robots that could still function, so why were there still some operational? Why were there so many?
I frowned as I stared at the various robots surrounding us. There were too many. If we fought them, it could be fatal. I held Simon's hand and whispered to him.
"How many do you think?"
"Thousands."
Simon's answer was accurate. I couldn't understand how these robots were still alive. We had ensured that everything was disabled, yet here they were. I couldn't believe it.
I suspected these robots were victims of the scientists. All the robots surrounding us were those we couldn't save, and they had fully become robots.
"They're too many."
They had surrounded us completely. I knew there were thousands of robots around us. Even though I had regained some strength, I still felt an intense weakness.
This was our only option for now, as we had no means to combat them. The robots had more powerful weapons, with various types at their disposal.
"When I say run..."
"We will run."
I wasn't sure if my plan would work, but it was better to try than to be killed by the robots. We were close to escaping, and I didn't want to die at the hands of these robots.
I held my necklace and stared at it.
"Run!"
I threw my necklace on the ground, even though it pained me because it was a gift from Ponus. However, he had said I could use it only when necessary. It released a white smoke that blinded the robots. We quickly ran to the tent. When we arrived, the students were in a panic.
We heard a cacophony of cries, sobs, and shouts. How would we escape if the noise attracted the robots? I sighed in frustration as the noise continued.
I saw Simon working on his computer. I closed my eyes against the deafening noise. I knew they were scared, but the robots could kill us inside the tent.
