Family
Just as Caldrin was about to turn off the machine, Simon's finger suddenly twitched. We were all shocked when his finger moved repeatedly.
Then, I saw his eyes slowly opening. Joy overwhelmed me as Simon's eyes fluttered open. He seemed breathless as he opened his eyes, gasping for air.
"Simon? Simon..."
I moved closer to him and kissed him.
He kissed me back the way I do.
I felt the warmth of his kiss.
I could only give myself up to him. I missed his kisses so much. When our lips parted, his eyes blinked a few times.
"C-Camael..."
He hugged me tight. So freaking tight. A hug that conveyed his long-awaited longing. He is my real home. I couldn't explain how I felt. I was crying tears of joy.
Thank you for giving him back to me.
"Hey... hey.... don't cry."
I began to cry again. The happiness I felt was so overwhelming that I couldn't speak.
No words can explain how happy I am right now!
Simon is alive!
He is finally awake!
I stared at his face and kissed him again. Finally, he had woken up from a very long sleep.
I wiped my tears and immediately gave space for his siblings to hug him. I couldn't believe that my Simon was alive. He was not lost. He would not be lost again.
I saw our children staring at their Daddy, astonished by the turn of events. I knew they couldn't believe what they were seeing, but at last, after eight years without Simon, he was here again.
Even though he had been gone for eight years, he had returned to be with us for many more years. I thought I would truly lose the father of our children. I thought I would lose my future husband.
I don't know how it became possible, but I am truly happy. It feels so wonderful. I don't want this happiness to end.
When I saw Simon's finger move, I was filled with anxiety because I knew my hope was becoming reality. It was good that I trusted that no matter what happened, he would come back to me.
The eight years seemed meaningless when I saw him alive... and somehow, his old vitality was returning. I suddenly forgot all the painful things that had happened while looking at Simon.
What they say is true. Everything happens for a reason, whether it's happy or sad.
"Bro..." Janus and Caldrin immediately embraced Simon. He even managed to fist-bump the two.
"We thought we were going to lose you, fucker!"
"Legend says that the bad weed takes a long time to die."
"Shut up." Simon rolled his eyes. Then, he was embraced by Dad. I saw tears well up in his father's eyes.
"You know I can't afford losing one of you."
I just let them be in that moment until Simon's gaze landed on me. I could only smile in joy because finally, he was awake.
After his long sleep, he opened his eyes again. I couldn't help but feel immense happiness. I thought he was truly gone. I thought he would die right in front of me, but he didn't.
I cried because I truly thought he was going to leave me. I thought he would give up. I thought his body was surrendering and that he was determined to leave us. Thank you for fighting, Simon. I couldn't bear to lose you.
