Brave
"Camael, aren't you tired? In the last two months, we went to Luzon for your seminar on mental illness, and now we're here in Visayas for a seminar about nature."
"Why would I be tired if I love what I'm doing?"
I walked off the stage and looked out at the hundreds of people who had come.
I'm very fortunate that these people took the time to attend this seminar.
"Good morning!" I greeted them. They responded with the same greeting, smiling.
Seeing those smiles makes me happy as well.
I can feel my baby bouncing with joy too.
"I am here with my team to present a program about taking care of our nature and preserving our beautiful surroundings."
Everyone quieted down as I began to speak.
I closed my eyes and remembered that this was Simon's dream—to hold seminars and encourage people to save nature.
"My... my husband was the person who inspired me to do this. He loved nature—the trees, the flowers, everything around us. How about us? Do we love nature the way Simon did?" They all responded with 'yes,' but I was disappointed.
"If you truly love nature, why do you keep burning garbage that causes air pollution? Why do you throw plastic that leads to floods? Why aren't you planting trees to preserve fresh air? Why aren't you helping to clean the seas that are filled with our trash? Why are you doing things that cause pollution to our surroundings?"
Everyone fell silent.
"And why do we continue doing things that might destroy our nature?" I sighed, trying to smile at them.
I had a lot more to say, but I decided to postpone it for now.
"We don't want a dirty environment, but we're the ones polluting it. How ironic, isn't it? We need to preserve our environment because that's what Mother Nature deserves."
"From this day forward, I ask you to help me... help me restore the old beauty of our nature. Help me preserve our surroundings. Can we do it?" Everyone shouted "yes!"
"Can we do it?!"
"Yes!"
"Starting today, we will restore the beauty of our nature. As we leave this court, we will plant trees in our backyards or in open spaces, and we have some T-shirts for you. Let's all wear them."
The staff distributed the T-shirts we had brought. We all went outside to their court, and I marveled at the beauty of their province.
"What a wonderful view." I took a picture of it.
As I was about to walk, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my stomach.
"Camael!" Krich rushed to support me, but I declined.
"I'm fine."
"You need to rest now..."
"I-I'm okay. I can handle this. My baby is fine." I caressed my stomach.
I knew my baby could hear my voice.
I want him to hear how his mother speaks about taking care of nature.
I want him to listen to my voice and hear every good thing I say.
I looked at the people and saw them planting trees. I smiled at them. Overwhelmed, I sat down.
"I told you. Rest first." I sat under a tree. Rylea fanned me while Wiliana tied my hair.
"Camael, you're already 5 months pregnant. Is it normal for your baby bump to be this big? I mean, I looked it up, and it seems quite large for someone who is only 5 months pregnant." I looked at my stomach and noticed it too.
