CHAPTER 71- School Fest! [Day 1: Opening]
MIKA's POV
Umaga.
Exactly 7:00 AM.
It's now the morning of the academy's most awaited school festival.
Every single student, from all years and all departments, lahat narito ngayon sa malawak na soccer field ng academy. We're all gathered here in front of the newly set-upped stage sa may dulo ng field (do'n sa part kung sa'n naroon before yung 'goalie') para sa opening ceremony.
The sky is bluer than blue today. The weather is extremely nice. The sun is shining so proud and bright, as if it is promising everyone it wouldn't let even a single raindrop fall from the sky.
Sobrang aliwalas ng ihip ng hangin. The breeze that's blowing past every one of us smells sweet and feels so refreshing. Na para bang, it is some kind of subtle spoiler for a series of excruciatingly beautiful scenes that are about to happen.
Everything in this morning, in this field, in this exact moment, is screaming 'exciting' to me. Hindi ako mapakali habang nakatayo sa aking posisyon. It is as if somewhere inside me, a part of me knows, that the climax of a story or a movie is about to be told--gano'n 'yung pakiramdam.
Ang school director ang nanguna para sa opening speech. Sinundan siya ng heads ng bawat department. They each went on telling their own speeches one after another.
Habang nagsasalita sila isa-isa sa harapan, hindi mahirap mapansin kung gaano na kaatat ang majority sa amin for the 'real' opening of the fest to begin already.
Sino ba naman kasing hindi gugustuhing ifast-forward ang oras pagkatapos malaman ang line-up ng performers na ininvite ng school solely for today?
Puros kilalang singers at bands lang naman kasi ang invited! Those level of artists whose concert tickets are always sold out within just a day? Oo! Those kinds of big shots na ginto ang presyo ng tickets pero nagpapatayan pa rin ang fans para makabili ng tickets? Puros gano'ng artists lang naman ang nasa line-up for today!
Napairit nga ako nang malakas kaninang madaling araw no'ng ireveal na sa page ng academy 'yung line-up 'e! Sobrang dream come true kasi nito talaga para sa akin. Bilang isang nilalang na parating #teambahay tuwing may announcement of concerts ang kaniyang favorite singers and bands, to be watching them later nang hindi kinakailangan na magmina ako ng ginto? Paano akong hindi ma-ha-hyped?! ヾ(*д*)ﾉ~aaah!!
"Good morning fellow students! As you might all know, our school fest is set to go on for one whole week. Well, six days lang actually if I were to be really specific. With the seventh day being a 'zero-activity day' and all. A day allotted lang for resting and sobering up after days of partying..."
