Chapter 15

Nobody was outside of the school building right now so it was the perfect time to launch my plan into action, especially since my parents were in the auditorium right now for the orientation.

I tried taking part of it but everyone was still so focused on my parents. Even my parents were too busy focused on themselves than to focus on me; the reason they came here in the first place.

Actually, the reason they came here was so I wouldn't find out Mr. McCabe was my grandfather.

I backed the van I was in up all the way to the doors leading to the auditorium. After turning off the van, I hopped out. Right as I did, someone cleared their voice so I looked over to see Jules standing nearby. "Where did you get that van?" he asked. "And why did you back it up all the way to the school doors?"

"Oh, this," I said, patting the side of the van, "belongs to a friend of mine."

"Okay, and again, why did you back it up to the school doors?" Jules asked.

"Well, I did tell you earlier today that I was going to cause a little mischief," I said, walking to the doors of the school. "So you might want to leave unless you're okay with getting in trouble for not stopping me."

Jules sighed. "What are you planning on doing?"

"What I'm famous for," I said.

Jules furrowed his eyebrows until he realized exactly what he meant. "No. Oh, no, please don't tell me there isn't an animal in there."

"There isn't an animal in here," I said.

       "Okay, good," Jules said.

"There's an army of animals in here."

       "Wait, what?"

"You really think I was going to suffice with just one animal. No, I need an army to show my parents what I'm really like at this school. You're not going to stop me, are you?"

Jules sighed. "I really should but... I saw how upset you were when your parents showed up the way they did and because it was so you wouldn't find out Mr. McCabe is your grandfather. That, and you're a very stubborn person and I know you're going to release the army of... whatever."

I smiled right as one of the animals made a sound.

       "Really, Parry?" Jules asked.

"What?" I asked. "That's not the only animal in there."

"You have different ones?" Jules asked.

"But of course. Don't worry, I was assured that it's very rare for any of them to attack. So you should probably leave before you get caught helping me."

"You know what?" Jules asked. "I'm going to help."

"It's going to be a lot worse for you now that your parents are here," I said.

"I know," Jules said. "And that's why I'm helping. I'm tired of them for thinking negatively of you when really, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me. I mean, you are the one who told me to try out for the soccer team in the first place and you helped me come out as gay. And you're helping me with my school work. If my parents don't realize how great you are, then..."

"Then you're going to show them the bad influential side of me?" I asked.

"What? No, that's not what I mean by all this," Jules said.
