Chapter 27

"No, you don't understand," I said into my cell phone. "I need all of them by Monday. The army of ducks, the wallaby, and not to mention to chickens."

"I would still like to know why you want all of them," my animal guy, Gus, said. "Normally, you don't bring back animals you've already done before."

"Exactly," I said. "I'm not going to get into it because it's too much explaining but I will be repeating all of the animals I brought to my school. Minus that zoo that I did last time. That would be too much."

The door to my dorm room opened and Jules walked inside, having finished his soccer practice since he was wearing his gym clothes which had a few grass stains on it.

However, I ignored him. I haven't said a single word to him since the whole truth serum incident and I was planning to continue ignoring him.

"If you're repeating all the animals you brought, then what about the cow?" Gus asked.

"The cow," I repeated. "How could I forget about the cow? Can you include a cow as well?"

Gus chuckled. "Sure thing, Parry. So, you need all of them by Monday. What time?"

"That, I'm still trying to figure out," I said. "Most likely around noon. But a lot of people will already be around the school then, and not busy, so I might have to go a bit earlier."

"You're going to have to make a decision now so I could get everything prepared," Gus said.

"Okay, hold on a second," I said, thinking it over a bit. Noon would be the best time to see the reaction but I might also get caught doing it and that would ruin everything.

And as for a bit earlier, it would take time to get a reaction.

Unless I did it while everyone was in class. And if I skipped my class, that would give Mr. Clutterbuck even more reasons to get mad at me.

"Can we do it for ten in the morning?" I asked.

"Yep, that works," Gus said. "I'll drop off the van then."

"Awesome, thank you," I said. "Seriously, you're a lifesaver."

       "I don't see how I'm a lifesaver."

"Dude, just being my animal guy is a lifesaver. I'll see you on Monday."

After we hung up, Jules actually made an attempt to talk to me. However, since he was listening in on my conversation, I knew it wasn't going to be pleasant.

Just like our relationship hasn't been pleasant for the past few days.

"Don't tell me you're actually bringing animals t the school, even with the disciplinary program being tested," Jules said.

Because I was still quite angry at Jules, I decided to take the immature approach. After all, according to Jules, I was an immature person.

I looked at Jules. "Oh, Julius. I didn't see you there."

"Really?" Jules asked. "You're playing that game?"

"What game?" I asked. "Saying your name? I didn't realize that was a game."

"And when have I ever called you Peregryn?"

I shrugged as I grabbed my laptop off of my nightstand, setting it down on my bed in front of me so I could order all the supplies I needed for my pranks. "Don't know, don't care."

"You changed the topic," Jules said.

       "From what?"

"You actually bringing more animals to the school. Don't you ever listen to anyone?"

"Well, considering I'm just an immature person, I'd have to say no."

"You need to stop this, Parry. You're only going to make things a lot worse if you try to rebel against the disciplinary program."

"You know, if you actually hear me out, you'd know that I'm not going to make things worse."

"How are you not bringing more animals to the school not going to make things worse?"

"Because if I do get in trouble, I know my way out of it."

"Right, I forgot. You have famous parents."

Out of all the things Jules could say to me, that hurt the most. I told him I didn't want to be compared to them. I told him I didn't want to be treated any differently because of who my parents were.

And now, he was thinking that I would stoop so low and use my parents as a way to get out of trouble. If anything, that was the last thing I wanted.

"Are you serious?" I asked. "You really think I would use my parents' reputation to get my way?"

"You've done it before," Jules said.

       "Really? When?"

"When you asked your mom to convince my parents to let me stay at this school."

"That was for you! You didn't want to leave! And I would never use their reputation to my own advantage. I hate people treating me differently because of who my parents are. I hate being compared to them. I told you that but here's my own boyfriend accusing me of doing something I would never do."

I couldn't take this anymore. I didn't want to be around Jules any longer because I was afraid if I stayed around him right now, I might end up saying something I truly regret.

I closed my laptop and placed it in my backpack before swinging my bag over my shoulders and heading towards the door.

"Parry, wait..." Jules said, gently grabbing onto my arm.

I was too angry with him right now to listen to what he had to say so I yanked my arm out of his grasp. "Just leave me alone, alright?!"

I walked out of my dorm room, slamming the door shut behind me. I didn't even know where I was going to go right now. I didn't feel like I had a place to go. I couldn't go to Mack's dorm since he shared with Mateus and I was mad at Mateus as well. I couldn't go to Mr. McCabe's office because Mr. Clutterbuck would be there right now.

Once again, I felt alone in my life. I felt like I didn't belong anywhere.

       I hated it.

I really needed this stupid disciplinary program to end because it was ruining my life.
