It was Autumn, which meant that the kids were sent back to school. Which convenient for Lea, since she got a new job as a graphic designer, because she felt bad that William did everything, which was more than enough. She worked from home, so it was nice that she had plenty of hours to work in the quiet.

The cool, crisp air flowed through the open windows, and the slightly darkened orange and yellow hues could be seen through the spotless glass. There was a slight breeze, which ruffled through the curtains. The sound of nighttime insects, slightly fading, as the sun slowly crept along the sky, but wasn't visible yet, due to it being to early. It was peaceful, as the household slept. Noises of sleep, being heard every now and then.

There was a noise, coming from the phone on the nightstand. A hand reached over and grabbed the device, squinting trying to turn it off. The time read 5:02. The person groaned, as they stretched and exited the bed.

They opened the door, connected to the bedroom, and closed it behind them. The click rang through the room for a split second. They walked over to the shower, undressing, so they could clean themselves. The tap turned on, the rushing of the bath spout, making a heavy noise, which turned into the gentle stream of water from the shower head.

They stood under the water, for a couple minutes, before they started washing their hair, then their body, and lastly their face. They turned off the water, and dressed back in the pajamas. Putting on clean underwear, of course.

The person walked back into the bedroom, drying their short, black, hair with the towel, which was dropped into the bed as they picked up their phone, and sat down. 5:18. They sighed, picked up the towel, and returned it to the bathroom.

"Good Morning, Will." A woman said, still half asleep. He looked at her for a moment.

"Go back to sleep." He said quietly, as he touched her head, as headed to leave the room. She turned over and went back to sleep.

He walked down the stairs, and into the kitchen, which was still dark, but had light, due to the light above the oven. He grabbed the tea kettle, and filled it up with water. The knob on the oven clicked as the burner was turned on. He grabbed a mug from the cabinet, and placed the black tea bag inside. He leaned against counter, while using his phone, waiting for the water to boil. He checked his email, which was usually flooded with business inquiries, which he could finish reading at work.

He heard the whistle of the kettle, and took it off the heat, and continued to pour it into the mug. The steam from the water rising into the air. He turned the burner off, and moved the kettle to the cool burner.

He read some emails, but one specifically caught his eye. He squinted, and opened the email. It was from Michael's school. He couldn't read it very well, due to his contact lenses not being in, so he grabbed his laptop from the living room, and sat down on one of the stools in the kitchen.

It has come to our attention, that you son, Michael Afton, hasn't been turning in his homework, and isn't participating in class. He currently has a low D, and as his parent, we expect you to have a conversation with your child about their lack of work. If  he doesn't start doing his work, he will receive an F, and have to attend summer school, for that subject. Only until he gets it up, at least to a low B.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience, Mr.Afton. We expect you to correct his behavior. We will give him the period of four weeks. Thank you for understanding.
Principal W.

William sipped his tea as he squinted at the email. He almost laughed at how poor Michael was being in class. He knew it was a mistake to send him to a private school, but the principal did tend to stretch the truth.
