Summer was well into full effect, and Elizabeth couldn't be happier. Well, she could. She pretty much failed school this year, and to be able to go to the third grade, she had to go to summer school.

Michael laughed at her when he found out about it. He found it funny that she would have to go to summer school for not completing second grade. Chris, however, passed with flying colors.

Elizabeth wasn't very excited about this whole summer school thing, but then again, nobody was. Elizabeth was the only thing keeping them from sleeping in. Now, it would be a struggle getting the girl up in the morning.

The first day was the hardest.

"Are you going to get her up?" Lea asked William, who was sitting up with his face in the palms of his hands.

"I think you should try first." He mumbled, waiting for her to protest. She sighed but got up off the bed anyway, heading to the sleeping girl.

At first, she softly told her it was time to get up, when that was unsuccessful, she got louder. After a few minutes, she gently shook Elizabeth, getting a soft groan out of her, but no movement. She tried a few more times, but was unsuccessful.

"She won't get up." Lea groaned, laying across William's lap. He sighed, running his fingers through her hair.

"Is that you saying I need to get her up?" She nodded, and followed him as he left the room. He got a cup of water from the bathroom, and walked into Elizabeth's room.

"Get up." He said sternly, waiting a minute to see what she would do. After she did nothing, he poured the cup of cold water on her. Lea poked her head over his shoulder, seeing that Elizabeth had jolted awake.

She sat on her bed, eyes wide and hair half wet. She rubbed her eyes before glaring at her father, who wore a similar expression.

"It's bad enough you failed school, now you're going to be late? You're making me look bad, kid." William sneered, before turning and leaving the room.

"I find it funny how you have so much courage." Lea said to him, grabbing his hand.

"What's she going to do? Bite me?" She chuckled, sitting down on the bed, inviting him next to her.

"Im surprised she chose to go to summer school"

"She didn't choose," William corrected her, "It's bad enough that she was incompetent enough to fail. I'm embarrassed."

"You're embarrassed? That's new."

"Not to brag or anything, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only notable person there." He confidently said, making Lea roll her eyes.

"I don't know. Elizabeth always says the kids say she 'smells rich'."

"She goes to a private school, aren't they at least partly wealthy?" William shrugged.

"I'm sure they do some kind of financial aid."

"I feel like sending her to this school is a waste of money." Lea admitted, catching his attention.

"What do you mean?"

"She failed school. So why would you waste money to give her a good education?"

"You're brilliant, Love." He complimented, squeezing her hand. She giggled at the praise, mostly because it was rare, and because she felt flattered.

"Why is she still not ready yet?" William said, mood changing slightly. He let go of Lea's hand and started to go look for Elizabeth. She grabbed his hand to stop him.
