After Violet arrived, things seemed to be more unorganized than usual. Whatever happened to William in the past must've been really bad, since he was more on edge that usual.
Due to this, he wasn't seen very often, most days he didn't even get out of bed. Lea was worried, of course, but trying to get him up would make things worse.
She felt bad because she wanted to help, but when she tried to help things never worked out.
"Hey, you alright?" Lea asked walking into the room and sitting down on the bed.
"Yeah."
"You've been up here a long time." She heard William sigh.
"I know."
"I'm going to the store, you want anything?" He hummed in response, which she took as a no. She paused before she left the room.
"I love you, Will." There was no response, but she wasn't expecting to get one. She left the room without another word, softly shutting the door behind her.
When she returned back downstairs, she noticed Elizabeth starting to get her shoes and coat on.
"What are you doing Liz?" Elizabeth looked up at Lea.
"I want to go to the store!" She excitedly screamed, jumping up and putting her coat on. Lea smiled at her, which made her giggle.
"Michael, I'm going to the store. Please don't do anything to your brother." She said to Michael, who was on his phone not paying attention.
Lea put on her coat and shoes, then left the house with Elizabeth. She usually didn't drive, but William had gotten her a new cat, and she felt bad not using it.
"Mommy I want a fishy!"
"A fish?" She responded enthusiastically, looking in the mirror to see Elizabeth violently nodding her head.
"Maybe if you behave well in the store, I'll get you a fish." Elizabeth made some sort of excited noise, making Lea cringe slightly.
The ride to the store was loud, but nothing unusual. As soon as she pulled into the parking spot, Elizabeth threw off her seatbelt. The belt hit against the window of the car with a loud clink. Lea whipped her head around to make sure the window didn't break.
Elizabeth was loud, but quieted down when they entered the store. She kept asking for things, but stopped after Lea reminded her about the fish.
"Mommy look! They have fish here!" Elizabeth screamed running up to the section where the fish were being sold. People looked at Lea, which caused her to smile awkwardly and pick up her pace.
"Lizzie come on, we'll go to a pet store after we're done."
"But they have them here! Why can't we get one now?!" She announced, looking at a blue and white betta fish.
"Liz c'mon." Lea calmly said, grabbing Elizabeth's hand.
"No! I want this one! Please mommy!" People we're looking at Lea again, seeming to wonder what she was going to do next.
"We can get it when we're done shopping." She said, trying her best to stay calm, which was hard with all of the stares she was getting.
"I want it now! Mommy please!"
"Elizabeth Afton, with the way your acting you won't get a fish at all." Lea said as calmly as possible, barely raising her voice. Elizabeth didn't say anything after that, and walked away from the fish.
The rest of the time shopping was quieter, which was much better from before. Elizabeth didn't completely shut up, but she was much more calm and behaved than before.
