The doctor stood in the middle of the room, holding papers in his hand.

"Your results came back this morning." He said, sorrow creeping onto his features, "You have cancer."

"What?!" William said loudly, standing up. "There must've been a mistake somewhere!"

"I'm sorry." Lea stared at the doctor, her eyes wide with tears threatening to spill.

"How long do I have left?" She mumbled quietly, causing William to turn his attention to her.

"Don't talk like that! You're going to live, there's no other option."

"We can try our best to treat it, but it already looks pretty aggressive." The doctor answered, not wanting to make any promises. "Even with treatment, we're only looking, at most, six months."

William stared at the doctor, as if it would do anything. He looked at Lea, no emotion visible on her face. His chest tightened, suddenly feeling guilty. He was unfamiliar with the sensation.

Without saying anything, he left the room, leaving Lea with the doctor. He swiftly walked down the halls, trying to find a way out of the building. He gave up, crumbling to the ground against a wall.

He brought his knees to his chest, resting his head on top of them. Tears poured out of his tear ducts, so fast he barely knew he was crying. All of the memories flooded his mind, causing him to become overwhelmed.

He felt like he couldn't breathe, his chest tightening with every memory that arose. He was trapped in his own head, not paying attention to anything around him.

"Are you alright sir?" A nurse asked, crouching down in front of him. He looked up, seeing a familiar face.

"Stacy." He mumbled, catching her attention. Her eyes lit up for a second, before returning to their sorrowful gaze.

"What a coincidence." She said, her tone sad, "What's wrong?"

"I don't know." He admitted quietly, not sure what he was overcome with.

"Well, why are you here?"

"Lea's sick. She's-" Stacy's eyes went wide. She would've never thought that Lea would get 'sick'. She was always healthy, and always had been.

William stood up, brushing himself off and trying to regain his composure. Stacy grabbed his hands and looked him in the eyes.

"Everything's gonna be fine Will." She muttered.

She wasn't technically a nurse, but she knew William. She knew him enough to know that he didn't think straight during certain situations. She knew given the opportunity, he could hurt anyone he wanted to.

"She's got cancer, Stacy."

"That doesn't always mean she's going to die." He looked at her, his blue eyes clouded with tears. They were irritated from crying, looking puffy and red.

"I don't know what I'd do if she were to leave."

"The doctors have everything under control."

"No they don't." He argued, "He said she had six months left at most. You how how helpless he looked?!"

Stacy was dumbfounded. There was nothing she could say to make him feel better, even if she tried. She brought him into a hug, figuring saying nothing was better.

"She said she'd always be there for me," He mumbled against her shoulder, "How's she going to do that now?"

"Listen to me, enjoy the time you two have left. They're going to do everything in their power to make her better."
