The sun was shining in the sky, occasionally a cloud passed by. There was a slight breeze, moving the grass ever so slightly. It was morning time, so the people were getting ready for church, or whatever else they did on the holiday.
Easter was a troublesome holiday for the household. The only people who actually seemed to enjoy it were Elizabeth and Lea, but that was expected.
Due to the lack of enthusiasm, Lea was trying way too hard to get everyone up and ready to go to church.
"I'm not going."
"Why not? All of our friends are going!" William rolled his eyes, not making any effort to cooperate.
"Your friends." He corrected her.
"You act like they all hate you."
"They do. Every time we went out with them, they stared and whispered about me." Lea stared at him before sighing.
"It'll be different now, I promise."
"Why? Because I have money now?" Her expression softened slightly, but she stood her ground
"No, because they've matured. They're not like that anymore."
"That still doesn't make me want to go." She sighed before leaving the room to go help Elizabeth get ready. After a few minutes, she came back in and crossed her arms.
"You're coming with us."
"So now I don't have a choice?"
"We don't even have to stay the whole time." Lea was getting annoyed that he wouldn't agree to go, but she could understand where he was coming from.
"Fine." William concluded that she wasn't going to give up anytime soon, so he just gave in.
"Really?!" She shrieked in disbelief.
"Don't make me change my mind." He got up to go get dressed in 'church attire'. After he was done, he went to go find Michael and Chris, knowing the didn't want to go either.
"Hey." William said as he sat down at the table next to Michael and Chris, who were talking about something unimportant.
"Is something wrong?" Michael asked, not wanting to be rude and not answer.
"I know you guys don't want to go to church either." They both looked at him, hoping he had found some way out of it.
"So, were going to go, and then when the service is over, we'll leave."
"What about mom, she'll be angry." Chris quietly informed, not wanting to have a lecture about why church is important.
"She said we didn't have to stay the whole time. She never said how long we had to stay."
"Yeah, but won't she still be angry?" Michael agreed with Chris. Going and sucking it up wouldn't have as many consequences as going and leaving.
"Look, whatever happens is my fault." The boys looked at each other for a moment before nodding their heads.

Getting in the car to go was easy. Getting out of the car, however, had other problems. William had a breakdown before he even shut the car off. It was caused mostly by the stress and anxiety of church. Which, for most people wasn't a problem.
Once they got inside the actual building, William turned around to leave, but was dragged back in by Lea, who was getting fed up with his behavior.
