The sun slowly crept its way into the sky, shining through the clean windows. The birds started chirping, signaling the day had begun. There was a light breeze, barely enough to move the grass, but refreshing nonetheless. The cold winter had finally changed into spring.

The early morning was usually the quietest part of the day, usually.

This morning wasn't quiet, due to the loud screams of Elizabeth. Ever since she had returned from the hospital, she was experiencing nightmares. Usually it was handled before she could get out of bed, this morning proved to be different.

Before anyone could tend to Elizabeth's problem, she ran into her parents' room and violently shook Lea, who tried to swat her away.

"Mommy! I'm scared!!" Elizabeth screamed, not caring that everyone was still sleeping.

"Liz, it's still early, go back to sleep..." Lea mumbled before rolling over, completely ignoring the panicked girl.

"I'm scared!!" Elizabeth yelled even louder than before, causing Lea to mumble something under her breath and sit up.

"What's wrong?" Lea asked, still half asleep.

"I had a nightmare!!" Elizabeth informed, not toning down the volume of her voice. Next to Lea, William angrily mumbled something under his breath, causing both of them to look at him.

"What did you say?" Lea asked in a hushed tone, not wanting to be more disruptive.

"I said, if she doesn't shut her mouth, I'm gonna throw her out the bloody window." Once the curse left his lips, Lea slapped him on the head, which immediately caused him to sit up and glare at her.

"Mommy!!!" Elizabeth screamed, louder than any of the previous times. Before she could make another sound, she was hit in the head with William's phone.

"Oh my God, William!" Lea shrieked as the phone hit Elizabeth. She quickly got out of bed to make sure that Elizabeth was okay.

"Why did you do that?!"

"Would you rather have something get thrown at her, or have her get thrown out the window?" Lea opened her mouth to say something, but stopped and sighed.

Lea glared at William for a few seconds before taking Elizabeth back to her room. It took a long time to get her settled in bed, but once everything was done, Lea let out a sigh of relief.

When she returned, William was getting dressed, clearly for something more important than going to the grocery store.

"Where are you going?"

"My job." William flatly answer, making Lea slightly raise an eyebrow.

"You have a job?" Lea sarcastically responded.

"You know, the thing that provides you with all these luxury items." Lea sighed, then chuckled as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"You look very nice today."

"You act like I don't look nice everyday." He replied with a slight smile on his face, which was followed by Lea pecking him on the lips.

"I need to go." William said, breaking the silence. Lea looked sad for a moment, but let go and smiled. She followed him all the way to the door, kissing him on the cheek before letting him exit.
