"Thank god we can leave!" Danny cheered, taking my hand and leading me to the doors. I smiled and glanced down at our hands.
"I suppose I should call Althea to come pick us up," I laughed. Danny nodded before narrowing his eyes at me.
"What?" He chuckled.
"Or we could go get some food," he shrugged, wiggling his eyebrows at me. I felt my cheeks heating up.
"Yeah sure. That sounds great actually," I blushed.
"Let's go then." He rubbed his thumb over my knuckles.
"There's a pizza place just around the corner......that sound okay?" I nodded and we walked together. We both walked into the Pizza Parlour and got a table for two in the back. I think a few people recognised us, so we tried to avoid them. We ordered our food and spoke about things like family and pets before out arrived. I found out that he and Althea were as close as you could get to finding unbiological siblings, they'd been friends practically since birth. I also found out that his son Ozzy was three and he's younger brother Lucas was 15 and a dancer, I still can't believe he can handle a teenage boy and a toddler.
"So, has Tony tried to contact you lately?" I looked up to see Daniel staring down at his food and I shook my head.
"Nope. I don't think he ever really loved me in the first place. He tired messaging Ruthy for pete sake!" I laughed. He gave me a weak smile, which confused me.
"You deserve better than that," he pushed. My eyes dropped to my plate.
"Really Kirsten you deserve-"
"Oh my god Daniel Kalakaua, I was obsessed with the work you did with Ed Sheeran. I'm so sorry to interrupt your meal but can I get a photo with you?" A teenage girl appeared with her friend. Daniel looked a little uncomfortable but agreed to it nonetheless, wrapping his arms around the girl while her friend took the picture.
"You're from that dance crew, The Royal Family, right?" The friend asked and I nodded, giving her a smile.
"That's me," I joked. They both laughed and looked at each other.
"Wait, are you two dating?" The girl asked, gesturing between the two of us.
"No, just friends," Daniel rushed.
"Damn!" The friend sighed.
"You guys would be cute together. Mind if we get a photo all together?" She asked. I nodded and stood up next to them. We all got a few photos and then they left us.
"I'm sorry about that," Daniel apologized. I scoffed.
"Trust me I know, sometimes I'll just be shopping around and people will come up to me and ask for photos." We finished up dinner and Daniel called Althea and she came to pick us up.
"Hop in," she winked at me and I jumped into the passenger's seat, leaving Daniel to sit in the back seat of his truck.
"Thanks Kirsten," he joked sarcastically earning a pout from me. I clicked my belt in and Althea started to drive away from the pizza place.
"Have a good night?" Althea questioned me, I turned around to give Danny a smile before replying.
"Yeah. The best."
