"Are you sure this is what you want?" I asked Althea as she moved her suitcase to the door. She arched an eyebrow at me with a smirk on her face.

"You make it sound like I'm leaving forever! Look, I need to go back to Wellington and visit my family, and the family wants to re-meet Kaea as my girlfriend and not just my teammate and friend. We won't be long," she laughed and kissed my cheek.

"We're gonna miss you, squish," Kaea frowned playfully and hugged me tightly; I hugged her back and kissed her cheek.

"Text me when you land," I said and let them get into their car before putting their bags in the trunk. I even waved them goodbye as they drove off. This week is gonna be hard. Luke was going to be gone touring Colleges. Ozzy was spending some time with Alex's mom. No matter how much I wanted to change it, Alex was Ozzy's mom, and it wasn't right for me to deny him the right to know his other half, so he was spending a week with her. I knew that I had to think about everything. My career. Kirsten. Kendall. But my girl best friend wasn't here to give me her opinion on it at all. But I've got someone else that I can rely on right now.

To: Sunshine- Hey Ruthy Look, I'm going through a rough time lately, and I can't seem to sort out what I think or feel. I'd really appreciate your time...but I'd like you to keep our meeting private and away from Kirsten. Meet me for dinner at 6. I got reservations at the Italian place you want on Broadway. Thanks, Ru -Danny xox

I got ready, even without knowing her answer. Because I knew who she is and that she would never let anyone feel alone. I got a text back about ten minutes later.

From: Sunshine- I'll be there xxx

I smiled and finished getting ready.

"Look who it is," I heard the familiar Kiwi accent from behind me. I turned my head to see Ruthy in a dress; she looked beautiful as always.

"Hey, Ru." I got up from my seat, gave her a hug, and kissed her cheek before leading her to sit down, pushing her chair for her. I sat down opposite of her.

"So, what's going on, boy?" She smiled, taking my hands across the table.

"You do seem a little down," I told Ruthy about last night at the party and all about Kendall. We spoke for around half an hour about it, actually.

"Look, you just need to talk it out with Kendall and then Kirsten. You need to follow your heart, and whether you're chasing Kirsten or Kendall, it doesn't matter. It's what you want," she told me, emphasizing certain words that stood out.

"Yeah," I mumbled and let my gaze drop slightly to the table.

"I'm here for you, Danny," she said, squeezing my hands.

"Look at me." I looked up at her, and she grinned.

"Hey, since Althea and Kaea aren't gonna be able to look out for you...I'll do it. Do you think Althea would mind me sleeping in her bed for a night or two?" She laughed. I shook my head, laughing with her.

"I doubt it, but Ruthy you don't have to do that for-"

"Shut up, you idiot, I'm not letting you mope around...not when you're going to end up marrying my other half of Kirsty!" She joked with a wink, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Only if you want!" She added, remembering that I was messed up right now.

"I'll pay the bill, and then we can go...are you sure Seth won't mind?" I asked. She shrugged.

"I don't think so....you don't know the full story on us anyway," she said, avoiding eye contact. Concern washed over me.

"What's up?"

"Not here," she replied quietly.

"Let's go." I did as I was told and got up to pay the bill.

"OMG Danny and Ruthy from the Palace, can we get a picture?" Some teen girls asked. I took her hand when walking out of the restaurant because I knew that Ruthy sometimes felt anxious.

"Yeah sure," I smiled and put my arm around the girl's shoulder.

"Thank you," she whispered in my ear. I'm pretty sure someone took a picture of this because I saw the flash go off. I nodded and lead her to my truck.
