"Where's Luke taking Ruthy and Ozzy?" I asked Elijah as soon as I saw her being dragged away by my brother. Elijah gave a subtle nod towards the paps that have been following me in Whangarei. I rolled my eyes.
"E I don't care," I grumbled, attempting to push past him to find Ruthy, but he pulled me back.
"Danny, people still think you're hooking up with Kendall." Well, that was unexpected.
"How?" I asked.
"Because she was the last girl you were seen with in public...people had no idea you had a thing with Kirsten." He reminded me, which only made my head spin more.
"So tell me the truth, when was the last time you saw Kendall?" I ran a hand through my hair and properly thought about it. But I hadn't seen Kendall properly since before I started seeing Kirsten again. I wasn't playing with anyone's feelings, that's not me.
"Before Kirsten," I responded truthfully, but my brother seemed to think I was lying. His face turned up slightly, and he turned his back to.
"What the hell? You think I'm lying!" I expressed myself out loud. My Gran came over as she saw things getting heated.
"Come on, son." She pushed at my chest, and I knew I had to calm down.
"Why does he think I'm lying?" I asked her sadly when we walked back to our seats.
"Kendall messaged him saying that you still had feelings for her," she answered hesitantly. I rolled my eyes.
"And he believes her? Over me?" I grumbled when she nodded. Gran gave me a small sympathetic smile before looking at the time.
"Go and get the girl's son, your flight leaves soon, and they're boarding." I nodded and walked towards the toilets. I saw the security arriving and going over to my Gran. Good, I don't want the paps rushing her. I waited outside for two minutes before Ruthy emerged with Ozzy and Luke.
"Hey, you," she grinned, holding my son.
"Are we boarding?" Bubbly as always. Her happiness was definitely contagious and, most undoubtedly, uplifting.
"Hey, and yeah, we gotta get moving." I held her hand and made sure that Luke was in front of us so I could keep an eye on both of them. We collected our bags and headed through the airport until we met up with everyone.
"Hey Danny," Ezra smiled at me while messing around with Ruthy. Usual from those two.
"Heeeey," Kyra grinned and hugged me. Corbyn hugged me afterward.
"Hi, girls." I waved and then turned to the airport security as the girls started chatting with Elijah and Luke.
"Make sure to keep those fans away from my brother and son, please, try to block any pics too" I pleaded them. They nodded before going to speak to the official airport security. Soon enough, we were kind of blocked off from everyone else, and since we were being seated in first class, we got on the plane pretty soon.
"This flight is gonna suck," Ruthy whined from beside me. I turned to her and raised an eyebrow in question. She laughed before elaborating.
"I forgot earphones," she pouted. I couldn't help but laugh at how cute she was.
"Here, babe, you can borrow mine," I offered, pulling them out of my jacket.
"But then what will you do?" She asked. I shrugged.
"I'll probably sleep most of the way. I couldn't sleep very well last night," Ruthy frowned playfully and pecked my lips.
"Thank you," I nodded and kissed her temple when she turned to look at her phone. I looked over the seats to make sure Luke was okay sitting next to Elijah and then finally sat down comfortably. I turned and looked at Ozzy, who was in his own little world, completely entranced by the tablet my Gran had given him.
"You worry too much," Ruthy commented. I nodded in agreement.
"Don't I know that," I said and looked out the window. We arrived in Auckland a little later than ten at night, so it was already dark outside, and everyone who didn't sleep on the plane was tired, including me. Ruthy held my hand all the way through the airport. Word must have got out about our arrival as paps and fans were waiting for us. No doubt that'll be in the news tomorrow. Not that I cared, I was just happy that I was here with Ruthy.
"Ruthy, you coming?" Corbyn shouted from Kirsten's car. Ruthy sighed against my chest. I watched as Kyra and Corbyn got into Kirsten's car, and Althea was here to pick up Kaea and take her back to the house. Nah, fuck this.
"Come with me," I mumbled against the top of her head. She pulled back and looked up at me lazily.
"Huh?"
"Just come with me?" I pouted, and Ruthy started grinning before turning to the girls.
"I'll see you in the morning," She said and then took my hand. I lead her over to our car, and I heard the girls shouting.
"Oooo Ruffy's gettin' some!!!" We both laughed, and I shut the car door.
"No funny business, okay? My rooms below yours," Luke said in disgust, and I felt my stomach hurting with how much I laughed.
