"He's picking her up here," Kaea said to her mum. I kept my head down, trying to not blush.

"Oh, so I do get to meet him," she wriggled her eyebrows in the mirror as I looked myself over. I rolled my eyes at her.

"Well, look, I don't know if anything can happen. I always thought that Danny would end up with Kirsten." I said. Kaea shrugged and sat at the end of my bed.

"True, so did I. But when she cheated, that's when I knew that she wasn't on the same page as him. Kirsten's a good girl, and I know she didn't mean it, but she clearly didn't have the same depth of feelings, and I think he deserves better than that." I thought over everything she had said, and of course, she was right. But Kirsten is my best friend, and I don't want to have that change because of how Danny and I's relationship is changing. I will always put the girls first before anyone.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and walked over to my window. And there he was. Waving at me with a goofy smile on his face. I laughed, shaking my head.

"I'll go get mum," Kaea smirked. Oh god. Here we go, I thought to myself. But that boy down there. He really is something. I pushed the window open, and he shouted for me.

"Hey, Pearce!!" He grinned.

"Fancy joining me?" I tapped my chin, pretending to debate the idea in my head.

"I'm unsure, perhaps you can sway me?" I joked, waiting for a witty response from like usual.

"Perhaps these will sway your decision, Miss Pearce," Danny winked. He pulled a bunch of red roses from behind his back. I gasped. No man has ever gone to this much effort with me before, even for dinner. I couldn't stop the smile I had.

"Okay, you win Kalakaua!" I shouted down to him.

"Daniel, son, come on in!" Danny's attention went to my front door, and I knew it was my mum. I rolled my eyes. This could be fun.
