We were just trucking away, I think we got the routine down, it's not as clean as I would like it to be, but we literally have weeks to work on it. Soon it was time for dinner, we all had an hour to go eat and come back. Luke and I were meeting Kirsten's family. Althea said she'd go pick up Ozzy for me so I wouldn't be late, I really don't know what I'd do without my family. I know I certainly wouldn't be working here, I mean he spends most nights with Izzie and Chin, sure it won't be like that during the off season, but it still sucks that I can't see him all of the time. The three of us piled into my truck and we were off to diner. We were standing outside Kirsten's house and I was super anxious.
"You are going to be fine," Luke whispered next to me.
"They're going to love you," Kirsten reassured.
"I hope so," I laughed nervously as we walked into the house.
"Mom!" Kirsten called.
"In the kitchen!" I followed Kirsten and she was immediately wrapped up in a hug by her parents.
"You must be Daniel. I'm James, Kirsten's father," the older man smiled.
"It's nice to meet you, sir. This is my younger brother Lucas," I smiled and shook his hand.
"It's nice to meet you, Lucas," he smiled at my brother.
"It's nice to meet you as well," Luke smiled and shook his hand.
"Ah Daniel, I've heard so much about you, I'm Anne," the middle-aged lady smiled and pulled me into a hug. I was a little surprised at first but hugged her back nonetheless. Luke introduced himself and Kirsten smiled at me.
"I told you they would love you," Kirsten whispered in my ear. We sat down in the living room and made some small talk until dinner was ready.
"So Daniel, what do you do for a living?" James asked me.
"I'm a choreographer at The Palace, before that I used to be a chef," I told him.
"That's great, how long have you been choreographing for?" Anne asked.
"I've been choreographing at The Palace for a little over a month now, but I've been choreographing since I was fifteen," I explained to the pair.
"So Kirsten told us that you have a son," James spoke up after a little while.
"I do. His name's Oscar and he's three," I told them.
"So I'm assuming there's a story behind that?" He pushed a little further, and I get it, he probably just wants to know for Kirsten's sake.
"Yeah Oscar's mother left us when he was six months old, I don't know why. But I moved on a long time ago so there's no need to worry about that," I explained and Kirsten's parents and they nodded.
"So Mr. Daniel, what are your intentions with out daughter?" Anne asked.
"Well, I just want to love her as long as she'll let me. I want to make sure she's safe and taken care of," I smiled, looking Kirsten in the eye the entire time. She blushed and intertwined our hands. After that dinner went pretty smooth and I was soon back in the studio until four in the morning.
