"What's with the staring?" Althea laughed as I stared straight ahead and I shook my thoughts away.

"Oh nothing." Althea cracked a smile and handed me a glass.

"Congratulations Dan."

"Thanks." She sent me a wink.

"You know there's a lot of girls here. I bet you could have anyone of them." She said, gesturing to everyone around us. I scoffed. Since my audition went so well Althea decided to throw a little party for me and she decided to invite Palace alumni so I could get a chance to meet some more people. Ozzy was staying with Althea's parents for the night.

"I'd rather focus on you," I winked. She rolled her eyes, her attitude would be more convincing if she wasn't smiling.

"Picture." She stated and I laughed.

"Cute," I said with a smirk.

"Like you," she winked.

"Interrupting the flirting again are we?" My younger brother Lucas asked as he sat down.

"Pretty much," I joked only to be punched.

"These people," Althea gestured.

"Are all here for you. I suggest that you get out there and mingle a little bit."

"But I'm not good at talking to people," I whined and Althea gave me a death stare.

"But I'll do it anyways, no need to kill me with your eyes," I spoke raising my hands in surrender. I go around talking to everyone, thanking them for being here tonight. I was about to head to the bathroom when I bumped into someone. A brown hair, brown eyed someone.

"Oh Daniel, I'm sorry," Her accent was different...a good different.

"It's fine," I assure her.

"You're Kaea's younger sister, right?" I asked helping her balance.

"Yeah, I'm Ruthy," she grinned, offering me her hand. I shake it happily.

"It's really nice to meet-"

"RUTHY!" I hear a girl yell from the other side of the room. I glance over at the booth in the corner and there are a few other girls who assume are her friends.

"You should come over and say hi," she smiled, turning her back to me. I look over and see the small blonde girl with her mouth wide open. I give her a wink before looking back at Ruthy.

"Sounds good," I smile and let her lead me over to them.

"Look who it is," Kyra laughed, shaking my hand and invited me to sit with them. I look across the booth at Kirsten, who was already staring at me. She smiles before her gaze drops to the glass in her hand. Maybe it's just the lighting, but could almost swear that she was blushing.

"What's with Kirsten?" I whisper to Ruthy. Ruthy looked over at the blonde and shrugged.

"Not sure, you could ask her," Ruthy winked with a smirk on her face.

"You think I should?" I ask quietly, looking over at the blonde again.

"Yes! Now go," she laughed, shoving me out of the booth and giving me an encouraging smile. I walk over and shuffle in next to Kirsten.

"Umm...hey," I whispered. She looks me in the eyes and I swear they were the most beautiful brown eyes that anyone will ever see.

"Hey," she whispered back, her eyes glancing down at my lips. We stare at each other for a few moments before Kirsten looked away. I see her looking down at her phone and I hear her sigh.

"I gotta go," she smiled weakly, and I moved out of the way so she could get out of the booth. I watch her walk out hurriedly towards the club door, leaving me confused.

"Hey, what happened?" Ruthy asked, appearing at my side.

"Is she okay?" I looked at her and I could see the concern and worry in her eyes.

"I'm not really sure, she looked down at her phone and then left," I rasped, scratching the back of my neck. Ruthy's eyes widened.

"Oh no. Um look I gotta go check on her," she says touching my arm.

"Text me?" She asked handing me a piece of paper with her number on it.

"For sure," I smile.

"Let me know how Kirsten is," I said as she walked away. I turned around and was met with someone who I've never seen before.

"Hey, I'm Daniel," I smiled.

"I'm Jade, it's nice to meet you," she smiled.

"How are you connected to the-"

"Danny can we go?" Althea asked, appearing out of thin air, looking at me with a serious expression.

"Uh yeah," I answered confused.

"Sorry, see you later Jade."

"Althea what's going on?" I asked. She rolled her eyes at me.

"I saw you flirting with Kirsten," she accused, causing me to furrow my eyebrows.

"What?" She gave me a stern look.

"Don't think I didn't notice the way you were looking at her!" She pushed. I could sense that she was agitated and I have no idea why.

"I wasn't flirting. I said hi and asked if she was alright. It was no big deal Thea," I growled defensively.

"You need to chill. Why are you treating me like this?" I asked. She raises her eyebrow and gave me the 'are you kidding me' look.

"What?" I huffed beginning to get frustrated myself.

"She's with Tony Pati."
