You're so dark (an Alex Turner fanfic)

THE Alex Turner

Alex woke up once during the night. It was when the sun began to make the night creep away from the sky. The light was shining slightly into the appartment when he opened his eyes and moaned of tiredness and because of his back and shoulders and prctically every cell and bone in his body hurting from the night on the ground. But all that was forgotten when he saw the sleeping beauty that lay next to him. His arm was streached out and her head was resting on it, her regular breath hitting his neck and her own arm was over his belly. He smiled bright and closed his eyes again. It was no dream! All that happened last night was real.
Alex put the blanket a little more over Ruby's body so she would not freeze till it was time to get up and he decided that it was not time for that yet at all. He kept listening to her breath while he felt that sleep was about to take hold of him again but it was still early, maybe seven so he simply closed his eyes, enjoying her warmth next to him.

Three hours later both were still deeply asleep when a light knock on the door did not even wake them. Ruby actually pretty much forgot about the breakfast with Jak last night and she also did not remember that she gave him the key for her appartment a few months ago. Jak outside decided to use that key now as he got no response from inside. Maybe she was still sleeping he thought and did not want to wake her violently by ringing the bell.

He unlocked the door and immediately got greeted by Heisenberg who stroke along his legs. The next thing he saw was so unexpected that he actually thougt he was hallucinating.
 Two bodies on the carpet, sleeping.
 It was her and Jak knew this guy she was resting her head on could only be this Alexander.
 He actually wanted to leave again, not disturbing them. He knew breakfast culd wait now and he was just really curious how they ended up like this because it was usually not Ruby's style.
 But in this very moment the door behind him slammed shut by some wind and made a loud noise that woke both on the ground.
 Jak knew now he was the one who must look like some creep and he was really ashamed for waking them, but at least now he would get to know her mysterious crush.

Ruby moaned when she heared the loud noise and woke up. First all she saw was something black, his shirt. She lifted her head a little and looked into a sleepy but pretty cute face. Alex was laying next to her, also slowely opening his eyes that widened in surprise "The fuck?" he looked behind her. She also turned her head and saw Jak standing there looking partly amused, partly emberassed. "Fuck..I totally forgot about our breakfast Jak" she moaned and let her head fall back on Alex' arm.  Alex was still way to confused to say something.    "That's Jak, my best friend. He's got the key. Wanted to meet for breakfast" she explained. "Sorry Jakkie I.." - "It's ok. I'm sorry for waking you...I will just go and.." he stepped further out of the room, wanting to leave them alone again.  "Wait...now that you're here" she said and sat up again. She pointed behind her to Alex who also sat up and looked at Jak. Somehow this face of the younger, bretty tall man standing there with the cat at his feet reminded him of someone he had seen. "Alexander-Jak, Jak-Alexander" she said saw how Jaks eyes suddenly widened. Unlike Alex, Jak knew exactly who was sitting there on the ground. And now it all kind of made sense to him. He had to swallow his surprisement and tried to act normal, obviously Ruby had no idea who she was dating.  "Nice to meet you Alex" Jak said and then to Ruby "Rubs could I maybe talk to you just really quickly?" he said.

She noded and got up, flashing Alex a smile "How 'bout you make some coffe Sheffield boy, please without setting my kitchen on fire" she said as she got with her best friend into the corridoor, in front of the door so they had a moment alone. "I know..I forgot about our breakfast...but "
 "Please tell me you fucking know who's making coffee for you right now!"
 he said excited
 She was confused "Sure I know. As I said Alexander. Alexander David Turner if you want it specific" she answered a little annoyed. She did not know what Jak wanted right now.
 He grinned "Yeah...Alex Turner"
 "Jak don't play with me! What is it?! Is there someting I should know? Do you know him?"
 "Hmm...I guess half of Britain knows Alex Turner"
 "Jak!!"
 "Best you ask him yourself"
 "JAK!" 
 

She got back inside and found him leaning against the stove with a mug of hot dark coffee in his hands and waiting till it was cooled down enough to drink it. She got to him and smiled "Good morning Alex....or better...lil' monkey?"
 She said with a grin as he handed her a second mug.
 He looked confused and a little shocked.
 "So when did you wanted to tell me that you're actually a famous band guy?" she asked, sounding like she just asked him about the weather.
 He swallowed some coffee, trying to save it, but actually she did not sound pissed or anything.
 "After a good-morning smoke on the balcony?"
 "Only if I get your jaket!"
 "Deal"

They sat on the small bench on the balcony and watched the dark clouds blocking the sun. "So...why didn't you tell me?"
 "Are you angry at me for not telling you?"
 "No of course not"
 "To be honest...it felt good that for once the person I spend time with, awesome time, saw me as some random guy-"
 "You're still a random guy...with a band"
 he had to smile.
 "You know...I hate it sometimes...I mean I love making music but being kind of known around the world was not what I allways dreamt of. The public and the fans have some certain...image of me, according to that they think they know me...but they don't...and...it felt good to see that you...did not know about that image and stuff...you built up your own opinion weather to...like me or not and.."
 "I do like you"
 "Do you understand why I did not tell you at first?"
 "I do. And I don't mind that you're actually famous with tours and fans and well...lot's of money I guess...you're still the quiff-dreamer-boy from Sheffield" she said and looked deep into his brown eyes "And I really want get to know that boy"
