Alex couldn't sleep. He had told him so much that night, so many bad things that happened to this wonderful woman.
She did not deserve the shit that had happened to her, not one bit, that was all he could think of as he laid in bed while she slept, her hands on his chest and breathing softly against his neck.
He couldn't believe how a human could stand the things she had told him and he was not sure if he could have survived all that.
He held on to her as she slept, more to calm himself. She was so incredibly strong he thought, every other woman or man he knew would have given up on that way, him included, but not her.
He remembered how he asked her weeks ago why she had the very first smoke with him, after he had helped her with her ex, on the night where they first met, hr answer was
'because meeting a boy with such a tongue felt like home'
She had ment his Sheffield accent.
Now it all made sense to him.
And he felt that it took a huge amount of trust to tell him all that.
He looked at the ceiling and could only see darkness surrounding him.
Alex knew that he would not find sleep that easy or quick, if he would even fall asleep that night.
This night had changed his view on her, now he also saw the truth and story behind her, or at least some of it. There were still untold things, maybe he would never know everything there was to know about her and her past but for now he knew enough to love her even more.
He prayed that he would not hurt her with anything, that she would have enough reasons to stay, to love him back, to be his, because he wanted to be hers.
But he also knew that she was right, when she told him that her story would not change anything. She did not want any pity or anything. She wanted to get on like they did and he was just willing to do so.
She told him that he made her happy and that was all he needed to hear, she told him how much she loved him and that she felt like being fially home when being with him.
