As she finished she got up gave her audience a polite 'thank you' and looked at Alex who was now more bewitched by her than ever. She smiled at him for a second and made a little gesture with her head in the direction of the bar.

 He understood and followed her.

She stood there, facing the bar, her back turned to him and he simply couldn't resist.

He sneaked up to her and layd down his hands on her sides, getting closer to reach her ear

"You play beautifully! I love it" he whispered and made her smile.

She got the drinks she had ordered and turned around.

The gin was moving in her glas as she handed him a bottle, it was a cold coke.

"Drivers don't drink!" she said with a smile by his look.

 "Hmmm...now I'm also your driver"

"Your fault if you did not leave...I didn't ask you to stay...but now that you're here you can also drive"

She did not tell where he should drive her. To her appartment or his.

He noded and made a toast, carefully putting his bottle against her glass "To us!" he smiled

"To us" she whispered back with a warm and cozy feeling spreading over her.

She got to his ear "I don't want to stay here" she whispered with a tone in her voice that made his heart break.

He stroke softly over her cheek and gave her the warmest smile he could come up with.

"We'll go, ok. I'll get you home"

She smiled tired at him and noded "That would be wonderful"

Both emptied their drink and as they were ready to leave one of those waitress-gossip-girls came to collect their empty glasses.

It was one of those who had talked such mean stuff about Ruby.

Alex could see the look the other woman gave him and especially Ruby. He knew what this girl was thinking and he hated her even more for how she was judging Ruby in that moment , not even trying to hide her thoughts.

Ruby of course knew what those stupid girls were thinking and that they allways used to talk about her, but she never let that touch her in any way. She's been through worse to let something like that get to her. She usually ignores them.

Alex really wanted to leave as well and so he simply took her hand in his warm hand, crossing fingers with her and lead her through the room. Both could feel the looks of the other girls, not believing that Ruby, the one no one of those b*tches liked was taken home by this handsome bastard.

They passed Andrew on their way out. She could see his look but he kept silent, not making it awkward for her. But he was glad to see her like that. She suddely looked so content and happy. It was beautiful to see her like that when usually she had this darkness around her.

"So...where do you want me to drive you?" he asked as they reached his bike. It was dark and a little cold, but not freezing cold, she was actually feeling quite warm because of her own leatherjaket she wore.

"Are you hungry as well?" she asked an made him smile.

 "Could eat a bear"

"Then I'd say...hmm...I actually hate fast food..."

But Alex allready sat on the machine and handed her the helmet "I got an idea!"

She smirked and took the helmet.

She climbed behind him and put her arm around his waist.

"Then go Alexander, hunt us some food!" she said before he started the bike and drove. She did not even question where he would drive, because till then his surprises were allways pretty good. Their ride did ot take too long and after some time they stopped in front of a store.  He turned to her "Wait here, I'll get everything we need"  he said with a huge smile and dissapeared into the shop. He came back with a pretty big bag, filled with stuff-. He handed it to her, so she could hold it during the ride to his appartment.

She wanted to know how he lived and she trusted him by now. It actually felt like they would be a couple allready, and actually it felt really good. Both were a little unsure on how to put it into words so they simply let it be.

"Wait a sec, ok" he said as he exited the elevator on his floor. The building was high and really beautiful, She could see that it must be expensive to live there. She was curious but did as he said so, one hand in the door of the elevator so it would tay there as she waited for him to come back.

He did so with a bag in which she could hear some cutlery making sounds and he was also holding a blanket "Midnight picnic" was all he said when he got back inside and pressed the button for the highest floor.

They arrived there and he lead her to the stairs that lead to the rooftop of the building.

The night was not warm but also not too cold even though some wind blew up there. The view was beautiful.

He went straight to his favourite spot and sat down. She did the same and smiled bright at him "You're full of surprises shefield-boy you know that? I like surprises" she added smiling.  He took the blanket to put it softly around her shoulders. He just really wanted to make sure that she would feel allright. And she actually couldn't feel better in his company.

"I hope you'll like those surprises as well" he said smiling and opened the bag with the stuff he bought. Some light was shining from the city so she could see what he put in front of them.A bowl of prepared fruit and some sandwitches, together with a pack of new cigaretts and some beer.

She had to smirk "Can you actually read my mind, god damn it!"

She moved closer and leaned against his shoulder.

He also smiled and so they started their little midnight snack.

As they were finished he got the last box with a winning smile "And now the highlight!"

He opened it and Ruby had to smile. He had bought two delicious looking cupcakes with a huge topping that were waiting for them to get eaten.

"You want to fatten me and then kill and make sausage out of me, right?"

"You read too much Hannibal Lecter stuff!" he answered laughing.

She shrugged and took one of the cupcakes "and you are way to good to me!"

He smiled and took a bite of his own cupcake, not noticing that some of the sugary topping remained on his lips and corner of his mouth. She looked at him "You lil' dirtbird" she whispered and raised her thumb to whipe the sugar away from his face. He couldn't hide his smile and closed his eyes for a short moment

"Ruby...I am-" but he was cut off when he suddenly felt warm and soft lips on his own, silencing him.

He kept his eyes closed while she leaned closer, touching his chest and burrying one hand in his allready messy hair. His heart felt like it must explode at the next second and he couldn't do anything then let this wonderful very first kiss go on.

He joined in and soon their lips were molding into each others, moving in perfect sync. He could taste the cigarett she had previously and smiled against her lips by this thought.

They had to pull slowely away as the air in their lungs got less.

"glad I met you" he finished his sentence and could still taste her on his lips.
