Ruby got out of the underground station, immediately opening the small umbrella because London for once more showed of what heavy rain it was capable.

While she walked down the rather empty street, she couldn't pay attention to anything around her, she wasn't even minding the rain, wetting her shoes and yeans.

Her head felt empty and full at the same time and she had the feeling that she would have need to sit down at any second.

Finally she reached the Pub where Alex was waiting with some friends to celebrate his birthday.

She stood in front of the entry for a second, somewhere in the distance a band was playing at a different location, a bell was announcing that it was ten and somewhere she hered a woman talk to a child.

Ruby took a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts, closed her eyes for a second and then entered the warm and rather crouded bar.

Her knees felt a little shaky and her throat dry, she also ignored the ucoming feeling as if she would have to throw up at any second and made her way to the usual booth, that their group always used to sit in.

Just like usually, she found Matt with Breana, Nick and his wife just like Jamie, Alice, her best friend was also there with her girlfriend and she spotted Miles next to her husband. He didn't want anything big, he said, it was just his 32nd Birthday, nothing special and he never liked having parties or such.

Ruby kept standing there a little away for a second, watching them, talking and having fun. Alex and Miles looking like a damn couple as usual, she thought and a smile grew on her lips.
 God she loved this man so incredibly much.

She swallowed down some of the mixed feelings she had and approached them.

Ruby got greeted by all of them and Alex immediately fought his way out of the seat, over Miles, to her, to give her a proper kiss.

"Hey there honeypoop" he smiled and gave her another kiss. Her new nickname made her laugh and she felt better and encouraged immediately. "Hey there Birthdaprincess" she answered back and gave him a peck on his nose.
 Alex smiled, she loved it when he smiled. A smile of him could fix the whole world she thought.

"Come sit down hun" he said but she took his hand and leaned to his ear "Can we have a sec before that?" she asked. He was a little confused but then smiled and noded  "Sure, lovebug" he said and so Ruby pulled him into a quiet corner of the old pub.

"Oh I almost forgot, here, I ordered your favourite Whisky" he said smiling and handed her the glas he had taken with him. "Thanks" she smiled and took it, but didn't drink from it.

"Everything alright?" Alex asked caring and softly stroke over her cheek, the skin of his thumb was rough as usual from playing his dozen guitars.

Ruby noded and smiled a little nervous "Y...yes...I...I forgot to get your present from the shop where I ordered it. They called me yesterday and told me it arrived...but...I completely forgot to get it" she said and Alex had to smile

"Honey, you know I don't care about my birthday, it's not-"

"I forgot it because...well..." she made a small pause, putting the right words together in her mind before speaking them out loud She took a deep breath, then looked into his slightly worried brown, huge eyes.

"Well...we should quit smoking...and....this" she lifted the glas of whisky "has to dissapear as well..."

He narroed his eyes and smiled "What on earth would make you stop smo-" then his eyes widened, his jaw dropped, he understood.

His heart raced and he couldn't work out a proper sentence. Ruby had to smile and simply noded.

"You...you mean" he said out of breath, taking her softly by the shoulders and then started again: "You mean we're pregnant?"

It was this little detail, that he said we instead of you that made tears of pure happiness gather in her eyes and she could do nothing else than nod and in the next second Alex pulled her into his strong arms for the thightes hug he had ever given anyone.

"We're gonna have a small pumpkin" he whispered into her ear while stroking over her back and burrying the other hand in her still partly wet hair.

She still could only nod into his chest and she could swear to feel how his heart was racing.

"And you are sure, like I mean-" he started, his arms still around her, but giving her enouch space to lift her head and look at him. Ruby smiled and gave him a kiss on his cheek, then fished a paper out of her leather jaket and gave it to him.

With every word he was reading, his face light up even more. It was from her Doctor, saying that the pregnancy test was 100% positive.

"That's why I waited, you know...I wanted to be sure before I'll tell you. I mean how fucked up would that have been, telling you i'm pregnant to find out a week later that I'm not. So I've been to the doc this morning, and yes, we are pregnant...and I completely forgot about your present" she said feeling like the smile on her face would never fade away again.

Alex stroke gently over her cheek, then laid one hand on her belly "I love you, Rubina Turner, and you're going to be the perfect mother for our beautiful lil' pumpkin" he whispered into her ear, then kissed her long and calm, while 'Eleanor Rigby' by the Beatles played in the Pub's playlist, quietly in the background.

"This is the best birthday present I could have ever wished for" he said and Ruby could see how happy this news was making him, just like her.

"On the way here I thought I'd explode, I was dying to see your reaction" she smiled. "I'm more than happy, aaand I can't wait until you'll look like a real pumpkin, then your nickname will make sense at last" he said laughing.
 Ruby roled her eyes smirking "Yes, and my boobs will grow as well"
 "Goals" he answered smiling, then simply hugged her again "I can't believe it...we'll be parents" he whispered, then looked back at her "Can I tell the others?? Oh please, I need to tell them!! Or don't you want to-"
 "Go on, Daddy, tell them" she said smiling and took his hand with the shinin golden ring on his finger and couldn't stop smiling while he literally pulled her back to the table, eager to announce their big news, he alreadly looked like a proud father.

Alex managed to make all her doubts and the fear of the future that had built up inside her, dissapear immediately, she knew this was right, she knew he would be the perfect father, she was more than sure that their family will be happy, this felt good, it felt right, it simply felt perfect.

well I actually wanted to wait a little before such an update, but I was in need of something fluffy and happy while studying for my finals, and no, finals are not fun. Forcing all that shit into my head to vomit it out in the exam to never ever remember it again, great, really, horray school system doing it right, not!! never mind, so here's some cute stuff for you guys and happy easter!
