Ruby opened the door to her small apartment and immediately got rid of her boots at the entrance and put them down on a mat next to the door. She went straight to the bathroom and hung her soaking jacket on a coathanger over the bathtub so it would not wet anything else with the water dropping down from it. After she stripped out of the rest of her dripping clothes exept for the black kneesocks and her underweare she got into the mainroom where a small red comfy couch, a desk with countless drawings, a double bed and small kitchen formed her home, her safe heaven. She tiptoed to her bed like a cat in the darkness only to find her own cat laying on it. She had to smile when she turned on the fairy lights that were around the bedframe and made it all immediately look less dark and more comfy and even kinda cute. Even though she would never consider herself as a 'cute girl' in fact she hated it when people called her a 'girl' because she simply was none, she never was, her childhood was stolen just like the possibility to just grow up like any other girl. She carefully sat down next to her cat who immediately raised his head when she stroke the fluffy fur behind his ear with her index finger. He purred quietly "Heisenberg...you lay on my pullover!" she mumbled to him and if he knew what she just said he slowely got up, streched himself while making redicilously adorable noises and put one paw on her naked thight. She smiled down at him and kept stroking him. When Heisenberg jumped of the bed and stood in front of her, quietly meowing to get her attention and to make her get up to give him some milk, she then put on the pullover that got kinda warmed by him and felt immediately warmer before walking into the kitchen, followed by Heisenberg who stroke along her legs. On the way she turned on the recordplayer from her dad. She let the David Bowie record inside and his voice soon filled the room.
The pullover was that large that it reached down to her knees, even covering the kneesocks she was still wearing. She loved being home like that, now all she would need before getting to bed was a nice hot tea. She waited till the water heated up and got her handbag in the maintime. She leaned against the stove and fished out what she snatched. She lifted herself up to the working surface and it only took a few seconds till her cat also jumped up and curled up on her lap while the tea brew in the huge mug. The cat sniffed at the wallet made of expensive leather that she was holding and then looked curious at Ruby. "Ok Heisenberg...let's see who we met tonight.." she whisperd and opend the wallet to find some ten and twenty pound notes in it, but she was not interested in any money, that was not the reason why she 'stole' it from him.
She checked the section with the cards in it. She got his ID card and pulled it out, looking at a little younger version of the man she met tonight. She had to smile a little, his dark brown hair was kinda framing his face and actually made him kinda adorable in this picture. She could tell that he was wearing his hair different now, even though it was wet from the rain she could see that it was shorter and fittet him a little more, made him less adorable and more handsome. Her cat lifted his head as if he was checking out the card as well "And hello Alexander David Turner" she read out to her cat and herself and couldn't help but smile, he really looked cuddely on that picture. She kept on stroking Heisenberg behind his ear "Well...seems like we have to give it back to Alexander, hm?" she said to the cat who started to purr and he meowed at her if he was accusing her for taking the wallet. She laughed quietly at the cat "What? I did not steal it...only...borrowed it...to find out where he lives..." she said to the cat "But don't ask me why..." she mumbled and put down the wallet next to her. She sighed quietly "I'm stupid right?" she asked her cat who still looked at her with his green eyes. He rubbed his head against her hand and purred louder as if to answer a 'no' to what she just said.
She sighed again. But in fact she really did not know why she took his wallet with her. She really wanted to know where he lived, but didn't want to ask. She allways hated conversations like that, all this basic stuff that would lead to further actions. She wanted to find things out herself and then decide what to do, and somehow this Alexander had something that she really wanted to find out more about. Maybe it was the way he behaved, maybe how he talked and maybe just the fact that he was also from Sheffield, this one place that she truly shared good memories with. He was no boring guy that you could easily forget about, but actually she did not want to admit it to herself. She needed to play the cold one, the uninterested, untouchable one. It somehow gave her some sort of power. She knew that it was a habit of her to try to keep the controle in her hands for as long as possible. It had happened too often in the past that people took the controle from her, made her weak, used it against her. She had to admit that she was interested in him, that he seemed to be a person worth spending your time with. Being weak and powerless was everything Ruby had ever hated and feared and she did everything to at least act and pretend being strong, in fact she was and the thought that she could be weak would never come to Alex' mind. Her cat jumped down from her lap, placed himself in front of the fridge and looked at it as if he expected it to open itself for the milk to just jump out. She smiled and pourred some into his bowl on the floor and he started drinking greedy. She took the mug with her favourite peppermince tea and walked back to her bed. It was allready half past four and she was actually pretty exhausted and just glad that she had nothing important the next day, no work and nothing else. She really did not want to meet her ex again, even though 'meet' was the wrong word. He simply went to the bar where she was working this night and made a scene. He was drunk and shouting at her so the guy who was also working this evening had to throw him out and told him he would call the police if he came back. He did not come back, but instead waited for her at her way home. She was not afraid of him, even though she was shocked when he actually slapped her. It was not that painful but still she never thought he would do something like that. It proofed that breaking up two months ago was just the right thing to do after their relationship which started really good turned into a complete mess. She put the tea on the bed table and cuddled herself under the cozy blanket and leaned against the headbord. She touched the spot where she felt a small bruise must have allready been. She promised herself it would be the last thing that would remind her of him and as soon as it would vanish from her face the memory of him would vanish with it.
She drank her tea while thinking of a good way to give Alex back his wallet without showing too much interest but still letting him know that he could have a chance in getting to know her.

When the pot of tea was finished and Heisenberg jumped on her bed to curl up beside her where he usually spent the night, and she turned off the light she had a plan and she was more than curious how Alexander would react.
