valentines day -part2-

Ruby stood in the kitchen of their tattoo studio, Joey, Monica and also  James, one of the five Tattoo Artists in the studio were all gathered on the couches and were eating what they bought. Ruby then got to the others but kept on standing with her hip against the back of the oune couch that was standing in the room but facing the window, so her back was turned towards the entry of the studio. The second couch was facing her, like Joey and Monica on it. James sat on the couch that she was standin against.

"Thanks to your boyfriend, my whole studio smells like a fucking flower field with fairies and happy unicorns running around" Joey said, munching a slice of pizza.

Ruby smiled "You can admit that you pretty much like unicorns" and sipped at her coffee

They kept on chattering about random stuff until the topic got back to Valentines day and James asked Ruby what she had planned. He asked out of interest, he himself was in a relationship and of course also had met Alex by then. Ruby noticed the warning look, Joey shot to James, because Joey knew that the Arctic Monkeys tour was harder for her than she would have thought and harder than she would confess to anyone else.

Ruby sighed and answered: "Oh yes, this will be my day, a wondeful evening with my cat and horror movies to keep me awake, awates me, an evening of pure romantic and exactly what a taken woman should have on a Valentines day with lots of Ice cream and some deliverd Pizza" she said in a  sarcastic voice.

"Babe, believe me, it will get even better than that!" she heared a low voice at her right ear, sending multiple shivers down her spine, together with two warm hands laying over her eyes.

Ruby inhaled a strong scent of cigarett and mint, her heart dropped, her brain worked painfully slow and ten times faster at the same moment and she could not believe it.

It was quiet around her, she only heared her own quicker getting heartbeat and the breath at her ear.

"Happy Valentines day, love" he whispered and put a soft, nearly for permission asking or even apologizing kiss on her  cheek, still having his chest pressed against her back, but his hands now at her sides and carefully pushing her towards him.

Ruby took a deep breath then turned around and looked at him, his handsome face, his hair, gelled back a little more and not in his usual messy quiff. He wore a denim jaket and a pair of sunglases in the brestpocket. Even in this state of first shock that her brain had to deal with, she noticed how tired he was looking, nearly exhausted, but also that only seing here for a minute was enough to give him back some energy.

He looked at her and his lips formed a smile when he finally saw the look on her face, a combination of shok, surprisement, happiness and the question whether she should be worried about her state of mind or if she was dreaming.

Then after a second of staring at him, she slowely lifted her hand and put it on his cheek. He smiled brighter, expecting and waiting for a kiss, when suddenly she drew back and next he heared the slap from her hand against his skin. It wasn't hard, just a little bit and not much more when she usually slapped his butt out of fun. "Wow, there's someone happy to see me" he said smirking and simply pulled her in for a tight hug, pressing his body against hers.

"Who do you think you are for giving me such a shock?" she whispered against his neck and simply nuzzled her nose back into the gap of his collarbone, taking deep breathes and clawed onto him.

Alex stroke over her back "Sorry...but the opportunity was just perfect" he whispered

After a few more moments where she simply hugged him tight as possible, still not really believing he was really there, she pulled back a little and smiled at him
