You're so dark (an Alex Turner fanfic)

sea -part3-

Ruby came back from the water, her legs all wet and wearing her bikini.  She found Alex laying on his belly and it seemed like he'd be asleep, even better she thought and tried not to spill too much water from the bucket that a child must have forgotten on the beach.

 She stopped directly over him and he didn't wake, not yet.

 She bit her lip, not to start laughing and wake him before the actual fun would start.

 Ruby took the bucket with both hands and then without warning let all the cold sea water in it spill over his back.

 Alex immediately woke up with an expression on his face that was priceless. He looked confused and shocked but then saw her, laughing, nearly loosing her breath.

 His hair was distroyed and fell into his face and he and the blanket were all wet.

 She looked at him when she stopped laughing, like an innocent kitten "Whoops" she said in her most charming voice and grinned at him.

 "Whoops" he echoed in an asking tone and put back his hair.

 She couldn't stop grinning and slowely knelt down in front of him, reached for the bucket and emptied the rest right into his face, making his hair look even funnier.

 He opened his eyes again and sighed "Well young lady, that means revenge!" he said but before he could do anything Ruby was allready back on her legs and running away from him. But this time he was quicker and not willing to just let this go. He raced after her as quick as he could and indeed he caught her. He knew she wasn't really running as fast as she could and so he put his arms around her and simply through her on his shoulder

 "You bad bad girl!" he said while walking in the sand, making her grin only wider.

 "Oh really? Does Alexander now have to take messurment on me?"

 "That comes later when no kids are around!"

 "Hmm..can't wait!"

 The sand and her on his shoulder slowed him down a little but he reached the sea and walked into it.

 He got deeper and deeper into the water and stopped when he was sure it would be deep enough.

 Without warning he through her into the cold water, but she allready knew he would do so and as soon as she was underwater she swam down to his feet and reached for both his angles and also pulled him down into the sea. He didn't really expected it and as soon as he got back up, really all wet and soaking he looked into the just as dripping but smiling face of his girlfriend who stood in front of him, the water reaching up to her collarbones.

 "That means double messurment when we're back!" he said but also smiled when she put her arms around his neck and touched his chest with hers.

 "Whatever you're up to Alexander" she said and bit into his shoulder.

 He laughed and put his hands on her hip, then gave her a kiss.

 "You look like a mermaid, just more beautiful" he said quietly and watched how her hair was flying in the water.

 "Is that what you usually tell girls?"

 "After the you-have-beautiful-eyes-routine" he said laughing and she did so as well.

 He knew that she of course knew he meant it like he said that she was beautiful, it was just her normal manner to fool around a little.

 She looked so perfect for him in this moment, the water, the sun, her smile.

 Ruby gently brushed his hair out of his face and gave him a kiss, their bodies still tightly together in the water. Alex gave her his most beautiful smile, cupped her cheek with one wet hand and leaned in for a kiss. He could taste the salty water on her lips together with a nearly vanished scent of cigarett and peppermint, he did not want this moment ever to end.
