You're so dark (an Alex Turner fanfic)

sea -part1-

The wind was playing with her dark hair like his fingers usuallly did.

It was cold even though the sun was still shining but there were allready some dark clouds in the sky that could only mean rain, maybe even a  thunderstorm.

The sun was about to go down and Ruby was sitting in front of Alex who had his legs at her sides and his arms around her, himself cuddled to her back. She wore and Arctic Monkeys sweater and some jeans-shorts. She also had one of those bracelets with small bells around her ankle that made some noise whenever she mooved her foot.

He put down his chin on her shoulder and took a deep breath, he could smell the salty sea, the rain that would soon fall down and he could smell her, her parfume, mixed with her scent that he loved more than anything else he knew.

He put a kiss on her neck and crossed his fingers over her belly. The sweater was a little too large but she had bought it like that because she liked it when it was more cozy.

She had one hand on Alex' right knee at her side and the other on his hand that was on her belly.

She smiled and looked at the sky. It would rain soon, she couldn't wait for it to start.

The sun was going down slowely and no one spoke a word, only watching how it got closer and closer to the horizon and near the ocean.

Ruby stroke over the back of his hand with her thumb, making small circles and smiling by every of his soft kisses that he put down on her neck.

She was freezing slightly, but didn't care, the scene in front of them was simply too beautiful to get back to the cottage with view over the whole bay where they stood for one week.

The cottage belonged to Andrew, the guy who owned the bar where Ruby played Piano from time to time and he allowed them to stay there for some days. They had taked the offer happily because it was really beautiful there at the coast, the sea together with the cliffs and the small beach that not many people knew about were simply breathtaking.

It was the end of summer, the festival season was over and so Alex decided that it would be good to have one week just for them. He had been away for a pretty long time because they had the newest album and everyone wanted the arctic monkeys at the festivals and of course it was fun, he loved playing there, but being away from Ruby for so long was not what he wanted. It was funny, he never thought he could miss any human that much when not being around, but he did miss her in that time. She's been to the last concert that they played, one of the biggest. She had spent the whole weekend there and some fans even recognized her as his girlfriend, even when he was not with her.

It was a beautiful weekend and the concert was just perfect, knowing that his love was down there in the crowd felt like the biggest motivation he could ever ask for and he was singing every single song just for her.

„How beautiful...look...like the sun and sea would kiss“ she said quietly and squeezed his hand softly.

He smiled and looked at the sea.

„It is..“
