Janet's POV

I'm in my room getting everything ready and there's a knock on the door.

"You all ready?" Mother smiles, walking into the room. "Almost. I'm just getting everything ready" I smile, checking I have everything. "You know you don't need to do all this? Michael and Ocean will have everything you'll need"

"I know, but this is the first time having Mikey all night and I don't wanna mess it up or for them to think I'm not ready or..."

"Of course they don't think that" she cuts me off. "If Michael and Ocean didn't think you were ready then they wouldn't agree to you having him overnight, would they?"

"Grace doesn't though" I mumble. "If she didn't then she wouldn't be allowing you to take him. She's the one that makes the final decision, not Michael or Ocean. I know it seems like she's being hard on you sometimes, but she just needs to make sure Mikey's safe and that he's happy. Social services did the exact same thing with Michael and Ocean when they were trying to get Duncan back, but unlike them, their not trying to keep Mikey away from you like Ocean's mother did with Duncan. Their trying to help you" she says softy. "I know but..." I pause and sigh slightly. "But what?"

"It's just that I've been trying so hard and sometimes it feels like people are just waiting for me to mess up"

"Well then their wasting their time aren't they?" She smiles slightly, making me do the same then I feel the baby kick hard.

"Are you ok?" She asks, seeing my uncomfort and I nod. "It's just the baby kicking is all"

"I could always go get Mikey for you or ask if maybe we could...."

"No!" I cut her off. I'm not cancelling. If I do then they might change their minds or think I can't cope or..."

"Of course they won't. Michael and Ocean have three small children themselves. They'll understand"

"I know, but Grace is gonna be there when they hand him over and she said she needed to speak to me first and if I don't go or send you then she might think I don't care. I'll be fine really. The baby's just been kicking alot is all"

"Are you sure your going to be ok?"

"I'll be fine. Plus Michael and Ocean are doing their charity event today so their gonna be busy and after last week I'm suprised their letting me anywhere near Mikey or changed their mind or..."

"Timmy contacting you, wasn't your fault and they've spoken to the social worker and she's got in touch with Timmy and told him he's to stay away" she cuts me off and I nod. "It wasn't my fault about Ben though either. I didn't ask him to meet me or tell anybody I was going to be there"

"They don't have a problem with you talking to Ben. Nobody does"

"Really?" I frown confused and she nods. We don't like the fact he's older than you, but other than that, nobody has a problem. But you do need to speak to him about your feelings for him"

"What do you mean? We're not dating" I tell her honestly. "I know, but he clearly wants to be with you and told you he loves you. If you don't feel the same way then you need to tell him. It's not fair to leave him hanging around, not knowing how you feel or where he stands"

"I'll speak to him, but not today though. I just want to concentrate on Mikey. Speaking of which. I'm gonna go to the store to pick up a few things then head over to Michael and Ocean's"

"I'll leave you to get ready then. You'll be a the charity event won't you?" she asks and I nod. "Of course. Ocean said Princess was gonna be singing. I wouldn't miss that" I smile.
