Michael's POV

It's Monday morning and I was supposed to be at work an hour ago, but it's Princess and Ocean's birthday today and my parents have flew over for the night, as well as LaToya and Randy. Ocean's still unsure about celebrating her birthday, but since it's Princess's birthday too, we're having a small party for the kids in the neighbourhood.

We got back from Ireland late last night and I tried calling Janet, but her phone was switch off and when I called the house Rebbie said she was out with friends. I left a message with her to let her know Mikey's fine and ask if she wanted to come over today, but she still hasn't got back to me yet, but it's still early and she's probably gone to school by now.

After Ocean and the kids, open all their presents, Ray and I are in the kitchen, making breakfast for everybody.

"I thought it was just Princess and Ocean's birthday today? How come everybody got gifts?" He asks confused.

"Because we don't want our other kids to feel left out" I shrug. "Wish I'd had parents like you guys" he chuckles. "My mom never did anything special like a party an gifts and stuff"

"Me and Ocean didn't either" I shrug "yeah but that was because of your religion. My mom just couldn't be bothered" he shrugs "So how many kids are coming?" He asks changing the topic. "Its just gonna be the kids in the neighbourhood, about 15. We're only having a small get together"

"You call having 15 little kids running around your house a small get together!?" He widens his eyes. "We have 4 running around here everyday, what difference does a few more make?" I shrug. "Well I ain't helping with the clean up, after the party. Your on your own with that one" he chuckles slightly. "I wouldn't dream of asking you to help clean up"

"Good, because you got me doing enough things around this place today. How much you paying me for this anyway?"

"We can talk about all that later. We need to finish breakfast"

"Yeah yeah. I want some money for today. I ain't doing it for free" he chuckles slightly.

"Just help me finish this and we'll work all that out later"

"MmmHmm.. Sure you will. I've heard that one before" he rolls his eyes playfully "Quick, cooking question though. How do you know when its time to flip the pancakes?"

I'm about to answer and the smoke alarm starts going off. "Waaay before the alarm goes off" I say, opening the back door and the windows to get the smoke out.

"You guys need any help?" Ocean asks, coming into the kitchen. "That'll be grea..."

"We have everything under control" I cut Ray off. "You sure? Because I can help you with..."

"Your not helping with anything" I cut her off and walk over and kiss her softly. "I told you already. Today's your birthday too and I don't want you lifting a finger around this place. Now why don't you go back in the living room an we'll call you when breakfasts ready" I smile and kiss her once more.  "OK, but tell me if you need any help...  And do not let Ray near my stove again" she whispers that last part then kisses me and goes back into the living room with the others.

"If she wants to help, then why not let her? It'll taste better than this" Ray says, pointing at a pate of burnt pancakes. "That's why I'm gonna have to start over and you can clean the dishes" I smile and get started, making more pancake mix.

After breakfast, everybody starts setting ready for the party and once again, everybody's refusing to let me help with anything.
