—So... What are we gonna do? -Chris asks me while I'm looking at my phone, reading a message from Scott-
"I'm sorry about earlier, I didn't mean to put you in an awkward place" and I replied "Don't worry about it, you didn't and I know you wouldn't do that on purpose, anyways. Love you, Scotty"
—Uhmm... I don't know, young man. -I turn to look at him while locking my phone- but I am gonna watch a football game from La Liga, don't know if you'll join me or do something else -I laugh-
—Football? Baseball is way better -he scoffs-
—Excuse me? Are you on drugs or something? I mean, I do like baseball but there's nothing like football and that's it -I cross my arms while sitting next to him-
—You're crazy, I gotta teach you about the MLB so you can fall in love with it and you gotta support Boston Red Sox, okay? -I laugh at him- we could actually go to one of these games
—What makes you think I don't know about the MLB? Besides, I'm a dodgers fan -he gasps-
—You traitor! How could you? -we burst in laughs- but seriously, Boston is way better than L.A Dodgers
—I gotta admit they've been playing better than Dodgers but still, I grew up watching my dad support Dodgers and so do I -I turn on the TV looking for ESPN- but anyways, we're gonna watch the king sport now
—How's the game?
—The game hasn't started yet, but it's Barcelona vs. Sevilla
—Don't know much about football, who do you support?
—I could teach you, you might end up falling in love with this sport as much as I did. And I love Barcelona of course, it's the best team from La Liga.
—I could take you to one of those games if you want to
I turned to look at him, those words made me feel like a little kid who's parent just told her they were gonna go to McDonald's, I wanted to jump and scream but reality kicked in. I hugged him and said "thank you" to him at least, four times
—But I couldn't accept it -his face had a surprised look-
—Why not? I mean, have you ever been to one of those games?
—Never, but I just can't, it's too much Chris
—It's nothing, really
—I don't know if you know Chris, but even if I accepted, I can't leave the country, I'm here thanks to my political asylum and I can't leave the country until I'm fully legal here, and believe me when I say it takes years
—Wait, I thought you were legal
—I'm not legal, yet, but I'm not illegal either
More than an hour went by of me explaining to Chris what happened in the game. Chris laughing at my screams and the fact that I got really, really mad over a yellow card to Busquets, but Barcelona ended up winning 3 - 0
—This is amazing -he said-
—See? I told you you'd love it -I smile proudly-
—Not the game, what's amazing is watching you watching a match -he laughed- you completely change
—Well -I say kinda ashamed and blushed- what can I do? This is what football does to me
I smile at him while looking at his sincere smile, can this guy be more perfect? He's more than gorgeous
—You know, Gabbie -he says and puts a hair trees behind my ear- I wish that one day I could take you to one of those games -he kisses my cheek-
Is this guy serious? On the inside I'm screaming, sobbing, jumping, everything. It's like fireworks exploding everywhere
—That's really sweet, Chris -I say smiling- I wish we could go one day... To show you how football is better than baseball -I shrug and we both laugh-
—There we go again -he chuckles-
After a few minutes, we stand up and make our way back to the kitchen, he sits in the kitchen counter while watching me looking for all the ingredients to prepare some food
—It's been a nice day with you, Chris. I'm having fun, thank you for wanting to stay here -I confess- If you weren't here I'd probably be annoying my sister over FaceTime or drowning my sorrows with Netflix
—I've had a nice day too, you're amazing. Guess we make a good team... By the way, how's your sister?
—I don't know, I haven't talked to her today -an idea came to my mind, he looked at me intrigued- I just came up with this... See, I'm gonna give you my phone and you'll call her, she will think it's me and will scream her lungs out, I'm pretty sure -I laugh-
—You're evil. But I'm in, hand me your phone unlocked
Turns out my little sister was at college with her friends when we called her so it wasn't only her screaming, but a bunch of other girls, Chris and I were laughing so much tears ended up falling from our eyes, after getting over it, Chris and I talked to my sister for minutes asking how she has been, how is college going and all that kind of stuff
—May I ask, why your sister isn't here with you? -Chris asked me after we said good bye to Sara-
—Because it isn't that easy, Chris, I wish she could be here but things happen
—Why isn't?
This dude knows nothing about immigrant life
—Bringing her here equals to having more money, which I don't have. I'm saving money so I can bring her here maybe next year, so hopefully it won't take that long
—I could help you -he stands up and gets close to me- I won't that a n-I interrupted him-
—Nope, no way, I'm not accepting it and the subject it's dropped. I know it might not be that much to you because you earn a good money but it's your money
—And what if I want to spend it in you? -he gets closer, I shiver-
—I'm not accepting that, you earned your money with hard work, I'm not taking it away from you, you're the one who has to enjoy it, not me
At this point he was very, very close to me. I didn't realized his hands were on my back until I felt them move a bit, her blue eyes were locked with my brown eyes, how can a person resist to this? I look at his pink plump lips and in that exact moment, he licks them. I was so in cloud nine, that turns out I was biting my lower lip and her eyes were looking at my lips
But no, I can't fall for him. He just called it quits with some girlfriend, besides, I'm not even in his league, he's dated these beautiful, stunning Hollywood women and I'm not near that. So I put my hand in his chest and pushed him away
He doesn't say anything, he just stands there quiet, when I look at him again he does as if he was going to say something but then decided to stay quiet
