Sidd's POVHer eyes were looking at me expectantly. I could see the tears threatening to drop at any point in time. She tucked her wavy dark brown curls behind her left ear and her eyes were cast downwards after meeting mine. She was biting her lips from quivering and I could tell that she was losing hope. I'm an idiot. The sight broke me. I was being an absolute asshole. A tear escaped her eye and she quickly wiped it away. I can't stand this anymore.
"Fine then." After I said that, her head snapped in lightning speed. Her eyes met mine and she looked down again. Her thick eyebrows furrowed and she looked everywhere but at me. I almost thought she wouldn't believe me at all with all the weird expressions that her face was portraying. But it's cute though. I shouldn't think like that. "U-um sorry what did you say?" Her eyes were still downcast but she looked at me wi her peripheral vision while asking me that question. Cute. Shut up.
"Huh? Why do I need to shut up now?" She finally looked up and looked at me with utter confusion. Shit. That was not meant to be said out loud. I could feel the heat rising up my cheeks. I probably looked red now. She looked even more confused and a bit angry. She folded her arms and looked into my eyes, waiting for an answer. She thought she was being brave but I could feel her nervousness. I couldn't help but smile at her. I'm definitely a bipolar idiot. I tried to control my sides from widening too much. She would think I am crazy. But I think she saw the appearance of a smile on my face and she started smiling a bit. Like a cute puppy. And she stopped herself from smiling too much and confusion took over her again.
"Nothing. I didn't mean to tell you to shut up, but as a friend I really do have to tell you that you look like a constipated raccoon when you talk while you are angry" I bursted out laughing. Her face brightened up and she was trying to seal her lips tight from smiling. She was trying to be angry. " Oh! and now you look like your ancestral Grandfather, Mr Orangutan," I continued and she bursted out laughing. "How dare you?" She came forward and hit my shoulders. "Ouch Tanya! Can you stop touching me with such aggression? I know you are kinky and you want me but stoppp," my whiny voice managed to even annoy myself. "Shut up papaya! Go to sleep and stop dreaming about me! I can't sleep at night you know?"
Papaya? Seriously? "Tanya, you should really go to a 'coming back with comebacks course for suckers' because I can see that you really need it," I kept my face serious while saying it. She bit her lips from laughing. "You are actually very annoying, you know that? I'm going to sleep," she turned away. She was walking fast with tiny steps and accidentally tripped over nothing. I ran to catch her but she didn't fall and her eyes bulged out as she saw me invading her private bubble. A smirk made its way to my face. She took a tiny step backwards and I leaned in to whisper something in her ears. I paused for a second taking in her unique smell that couldn't be described. Pine tree? Jasmine? Or that smell of soil erosion after a heavy rain? I could hear her heartbeat and I was glad it was louder than my heartbeat. My heartbeat was going at a speed of a racing car and I wouldn't want to let her know that.
"Goodnight baby," I tenderly whispered and stepped back before my heart exploded. I winked and her eyes bulged out even more before she practically ran away into her room.
Wow. I thought we were just going to be friends. I was supposed to be angry with her. What? Things escalated too quickly.
