Tanya's POV
"Goodnight baby."
I couldn't sleep the whole night. He was just joking. What the hell, Tanya? But I kept thinking about that stupid thing the whole damn night. I was lucky today was a weekend. I would have died if there was work today. Imagine drooping my eyes shut and actually sleeping with tons of piles of files on my desk... and my boss would have fired me from work... but at least that didn't happen.
I was alone at home cooking something that should be fried rice, but it didn't look the way it was supposed to so I decided to name it something different after it was done. Oops?... Sidd had already gone to the gym by the time I had woke up and finished showering. So being the good friend that I was, I wanted to cook something for him. Friend, huh? Um, yes he is my friend. Along with pushing those thoughts away, I also pushed back the few strands that were loosely hanging out from my messy bun. They were being really annoying right now. The very point of this bun was to not let my hair disturb me while cooking but apparently it doesn't work that way. I probably looked like an absolute mess but at least nobody was going to see me. So why not look like an absolute mess right? Sidd was probably going to come at like 9am. It was barely 8. I was almost done. But something told me that this fried rice was going to be worse than I thought.
I switched off the stove and that was when I felt a presence behind me.
Sidd's POV
I could smell something burning all the way from the entrance of the house. Yep, definitely Tanya's cooking. During the first few days of knowing her, I thought that she was a cooking expert because she was very particular about keeping the kitchen clean. But I was mistaken; it was just her OCD tendencies (kidding, but still). The way her food looked and smelt already told stories about her cooking. It gave me the shudders.
I wanted to give her a surprise so I quietly entered the house. Tanya was engrossed in stirring something while frowning and trying to push back her hair from falling on her face. She was wearing a loose tee that looked so cute on her and her pants looked like they could fit in two more legs with ease. I tiptoed and she never noticed until I was right behind her. She stilled. She grew even more stiff as I leaned in close to her ears.
"HEY TANYA!"
She was startled to say the least. She screamed so loudly I could have gone deaf if she didn't run a metre away from me a few seconds after screaming. She slowly turned around. Her face expression was on a whole new level. Her eyes were wide like saucers and her mouth still agape; she could have passed off as a fish with her funny expression. I couldn't stop myself from laughing. "Tanya..." I was trying to get some air but I started laughing again. "I-I'm..." another round of laughter escaped my mouth. She frowned and quickly closed the gap between us. She looks like she is going to commit a murder any minute. She hit me hard on the shoulder. Or at least she thought she hit me hard. After another round of laughter, I finally apologised before she killed me with her cute angry eyes. "But really though, you must have looked at your face! It was totally worth it, you know? You looked like a fish," I couldn't stop laughing.
Tanya's cheeks turned beet red. "Shut up! I was alone at home. I thought it could be some... um... dangerous people, you know?" Her cheeks burned even more. She scoffed and tucked the loose strands of her hair behind her ears again. "You thought I was a murderer?" I wasn't very good at hiding the amusement in my voice. She scoffed harder and turned around, covering her face with her hands and groaned. "Can we forget that ever happened?" She sighed. I walked to face her and removed her hands from her face. She looked so done with life. "Okay," a smirk made its way into my face and she groaned again. She tugged her hand away from mine and pouted. It looked like a frown but it also looked she was pouting. "Okay okay I swear I won't bring this up again, okay?" I chuckled and that was when her face brightened.
But that was when she started taking in my appearance. She was eyeing from my head to toe. Damn, am I that handsome?
"You are really in need of a shower," her face turned into disgust and she shook her heard.
Okay, never mind.
