Jake's POV
Why do I feel so happy right now? I've had an awful morning. And it is all because of that girl... She is so damn infuriating! I sigh and rake my hands through my hair. She hit me countless times. I've never let a girl hit me before. She screamed in my face and I couldn't even scream back. What is wrong with me?
I kick the stairwell railing and yell out some of my frustration.
God! She makes me so mad! And yet... just looking at her drives me crazy. Her big round blue eyes penetrated my thoughts. I can't even think straight when she's looking at me. She's even sexier when she's mad. I laugh at the absurdity of my thought.
Why did I grab her like that? Why did I say those things to her? I suck in a breath through my teeth and click my tongue. She smelled so good. Like strawberries. She did. And the way her pupils dilated when she looked at my lips. She was hungry for them. For me. I could tell. A half-smile rose to my lips just thinking about it. She looked scared of me. Timid, yet so tiny and so ferocious at the same time. Sure, all the pretty girl's in school know my name and want me but I've never in my life encountered a girl as fierce as her. My princess... I had her pressed up against me and I could feel the heat of her breath on my neck. I could feel her pulse racing in her wrists while I gripped them. Something about that caused a tickle in my groin. Women throw themselves at me all the time. I've never been so easily aroused.
But ooh... she makes me so mad!! She gave me a damn fat nose for christ sake! That's it! I need a second opinion on this situation. I yank my phone from my pocket and speed dial my best friend Luke. He picks up on the second ring. As usual. He's so loyal.Meeting spot in two minutes Luke. It's important.
I hang up before I hear him respond. I didn't need to hear one. He always comes. Always. I hurriedly walk out of the freshman building. I turn my coat collar up to shield my neck from the icy cold wind trying my best to preserve the heat under my coat. I headed toward the fountain in the middle of campus. I reached the top of the stairs, rounded the fountain side to be greeted by my reliable friend Luke who was already there out of breath from running.
"What's the... emergency... Jake?"
He said between breaths. He was bent over while bracing himself with his hands on his knees."That infuriating woman Luke... Princess is my emergency." I said sounding agitated while raking my hands through my hair.
Luke gave me a puzzled look.
"Who is Princess?"
He was understandably confused as to whom I was talking about. Of course, he didn't know who she was. I just met her.
"Princess is a pain in my ass. But that's not the problem. Well not entirely."
I honestly didn't know where to begin. I groaned. This is gonna embarrass the hell out of me once I tell him all the details.
"So start talking."
Luke sits on the edge of the fountain wall and begins crossing his legs and arms as a therapist does after taking note of the time at the start of a session.
"Princess... She was so mean to me. You should have seen her. She's feisty, loud, infuriating, she's a pain in my ass. She even punched me this morning!"
I paced back and forth as I attempted to explain. I was throwing my hands up in the air in frustration. I stopped pacing around in circles and stood in front of him. I looked down at Luke, hesitant to say what I needed to say next. Luke doesn't seem to be surprised that she hit me.
