ALICIA'S POV
Three weeks have passed and they were so busy. I spent a lot of time with Idget and Tyler. I helped Idget learn how to eat with chopsticks first. Without her knowledge that I was teaching her of course. I kept using the excuse that my being pregnant made me crave Korean food almost every single day. I don't think she even noticed she was being schooled. After that we worked on saying simple things in korean. Idget actually caught on pretty quickly. I think she was secretly studying at home as well as with me and Tyler. We spent a lot of time practicing the difference between formal and informal speech.
By the end of the three weeks, I was exhausted but I had a lot of fun. When Tyler and I felt that Idget was ready he told me today in class that he was bringing her to meet his parents. He looked nervous when he told me but I was thrilled. Construction at my old house is moving along pretty quickly. I'm spending any spare time I can looking for a house to buy with Luke. We toured several homes but none really sparked a feeling inside of me that said, "home."
I could tell Luke was getting frustrated because all the homes seemed wonderful to him. That's the impression that I got. He liked the ones with swimming pools but I felt that they would be too dangerous with babies and toddlers running around. We immediately checked those off the list. Luke and I compromised that we would find a place with a big enough yard to add a pool later in life. After the kids learn to swim.
He liked the homes that were more modern and white everywhere but it didn't seem logical to me. I knew that if everything was white, I'd be spending my life scrubbing walls and carpets trying to keep the place looking spotless. I preferred a house that had some originality and privacy as well. I love wood flooring and built in bookshelves. Luke and I both love to read so we both agreed on having a library.
Today we are touring one house that seems to meet all our requirements. Almost all the houses we saw met our requirements but my heart just wouldn't settle. Hopefully, I can end the search today. I really want to get settled. After we see the house we are going to Luke's parent's house for dinner. It will be the first time I have been back to his parrents house since meeting his parents. Luke said his mom has "come around" to the idea of me becoming a permanent part of their family and being pregnant with the twins but I was still nervous and skeptical of her at the same time.
I got a new car. Actually a van. Against Jake's wishes but it's my car, my choice. I got a nice silver colored Toyota Sienna. I surprised Luke with my choice in cars as well but he didn't throw a hissy fit like Jake did. In three days we have a doctors appointment. Hopefully, we will get to find out what we are having. Luke and I had talked about what our hopes for the outcome are. Luke wants a boy and a girl. So do I. But it really doesn't matter. Except making sure to buy a house with an extra bedroom if that is the case. The house we are looking at today has five bedrooms and three bathrooms which are perfect so we can have a guest room and an office regardless of what we are having.
"Alicia, are you even listening to me?" Tyler waved his hand in my face.
"Wha? Oh... Sorry, Ty. I wasn't. I was day dreaming again." I admitted.
"You've been doing that a lot lately. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I am fine. Actually, things couldn't be better. Anyway, what were you saying? I'm sorry." I sighed.
"It's not really important. I was just thinking maybe you should come with Idget to my house tomorrow. But I can't decide if that would be a good idea or not. What do you think?"
"Definitely a bad idea," I said.
I twirled my fork in my plate of spaghetti and shoved a mouthful in.
Hoping I wouldn't need to elaborate since my mouth is full of food.
