Day #4

Saturday was pretty eventful. I woke up alone in bed just in time to see Calum coming back from his morning jog. I can barely think in this cold weather but of course Calum even manages to work out. We get ready for the day singing duets around the apartment. We sing from ABBA to Bon Jovi and even High School Musical. My voice sounds pitiful compared to his but I still do it just for fun. I dress casually in jeans, a black sweatshirt and black combat boots. I throw a beige scarf around my neck and take my also black jacket with me just in case the weather bothers me. Once I join him in the living room, Calum says I'm dressed in all black only to match him because the poor guy likes to fool himself. He tells me we are going out for breakfast but he forgot to mention how we would get there.

"Bicycles?" I ask him just to be sure he isn't kidding me

"What better way to go sight seeing than to pedal around?" Calum justifies making me laugh

"London is huge, Calum" I reason

He can be all athletic and shit but I'm not. It's been a while since I last had a proper work out and it's going to be humiliating for me if he decides to pedal around the entire city. I'm out of shape.

"We'll come back to get the car after breakfast" He tells me and I agree

"Promise?"

"Relax Gia, I'm not trying to disturb your sedentary lifestyle" Calum mocks me and before I can swat his chest like I intended to, he walks away in his bike

I hop on my own bike and follow his lead but not without calling him all types of names. We pedal through a beautiful flowered park to the banks of the Thames river. It's a nice day out despite the cold. Since today is my only free day so far, Calum promised to take me as many places as possible. We pass by the Houses of Parliament and the Big Ben on our way to the final destination. I'm loving Calum's bike idea but I won't give him that satisfaction just yet. We're riding north and it takes us about half an hour to get there but it's very much worth it. We both hop off our bikes to enter the black metal gates and as we walk further into the park I'm engulfud into another reality. We are in some sort of secret garden lost in the middle of old arcaic constructions. It's beyond amazing and it doesn't even look like we're in London anymore. It actually seems like we were transported to the medieval era. There's a small lake surrounded by brown and orange leaf trees creating the most beautiful scenario I've ever witnessed. We can hear the birds singing and not even the cold could ruin my mood right now. I'm enchanted.

"How did you find this place?" I ask mesmerized by the beauty of the garden "It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen"

"Isn't it?" Calum agrees

I look around trying to take in the most I can of this incridible place. A cool breeze hits us making me brace myself to shield from the cold. We stop close to the lake and Calum extends a towel over the grass between us.
