"How was your day?" Calum asks while we drive by the beach avenue

It's a typical warm day in LA. Too hot for me to wear a blazer for work and way too hot for Calum to be wearing a shirt if you ask me.

"It was nice. Kind of busy with the girls all over me trying to find out who was the guy that droped me off to work today"

"Oh yeah" He chuckles with eyes still on the road "So you spent all day talking about me"

"Don't flatter yourself" I roll my eyes at him

Calum offers me his phone in case I want to change the music and I decide to share with him a few of my favorite songs. I start with Bad Habit by The Kooks and a smile creeps its way to my lips when I see Calum drumming his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat of the song.

"Dinner with the boys is canceled" He comments "Ashton is going out with Jason's sister tonight"

"What?" I ask beyond surprised

Ashton and Jules are really a thing? How freaking cute is that?

"That's awesome"

"And naturally, Ashton doesn't want his first date with her to be while her brother's in the room" He explains

"Completely understandable"

I pull out my phone to send Jules a quick text teasing her about her date with Ashton. They're really cute together and it'll be so much fun if we go out on double dates. But while I'm at it another text catches my eye.

What the fuck is his problem

Calum and Nia out on a romantic date (link)

I click on the link and see picutes of Calum and Nia walking out of the restaurant together. I know the pictures are from last night and I also know we've already talked about it. I know we've cleared things out and I shouldn't be bothered about it. But I don't think that's quite how our feelings work.

"So I thought we could hang out with Jason and Drew instead" Calum sweetly suggests "Maybe go to that nice place near campus with decent 17 dollars meal"

He says the last part in a high pitched voice trying to copy my tone. I offer him a weak smile that doesn't reach my eyes while my head is going over our conversation from the previous night. They made an agreement. They only went out for publicity. He doesn't have feelings for her.

"What?" Calum asks me with a little frown between his eyebrows

"Nothing" I shake my head trying to get rid of the stupid thoughts

"Doesn't look like it" He insists

I try to keep myself busy choosing another one of my favorite songs. I decide for Riptide by Vance Joy because this song always finds a way to make me smile. I rest my head on the leather seat with eyes closed trying to lighten up my mood. My head has always been my worst enemy. I just wish I had a button where I could silence the bad thoughts.

"Communication is the key to any healthy relationship" I hear him say and can't help but crack a smile

He's such a dork but a incredibly cute dork.

"Is this from your Self help book?" I mock "Wise words from a not so wise man"

"Well, excuse me" Calum pretends to be offended "I'm wise enough"
