Ashton: I can't find him anywhere
Ashton: That son of a bitch isn't answering his phone
Ashton: I know you two aren't in good terms but could you try calling him?
Ashton: Maybe he'll answer you
Ashton: I've tried looking in all his favorite places
Ashton: And nothing
Ashton: Fucking great
Ashton: Now you're not answering either
I look down at the sleeping angel peacefully snoring on my lap and then back at my phone, where Ashton continues to text me. We lost track of time tiring ourselves out in the best possible way, which led to me burning the cake I spent all afternoon trying to prepare for him and resulted in Cal falling asleep 5 minutes into the movie we planned to watch.
Ashton: If I can' t find him in the next hour I'm cancelling the party
Georgia: All is good
Georgia: He's with me
Georgia: We'll be going to his house around 6p.m. and then I'll come up with some excuse to take him to your place
Ashton: Of course he's with you
Ashton: Where else would he be
Ashton: Okay good plan
I put my phone down, placing it on the couch beside me before my fingers continue to play with Calum's curls. The most genuine feeling of happiness invades me every time I watch him sleep and study his angelic features. It's such a weird privilege to be able to see him looking this vulnerable, to follow the smooth raise and fall of his toned chest or to hear his light snores. My heart almost bursts out of my chest as I remember the night Calum told me he had never woken up next to a girl before. I guess that's why I find myself in such peace whenever I watch him sleep. I love it that I was the only one he felt relaxed or maybe intimate enough to do so. It's a very especial thing for me and an important mark in our relationship.
"Do you wanna know something random?" Calum asked me when we were on our very first official date
"Sure" I simply said with a small shrug
"I had never woken up next to someone before" He told me "Like I did today"
"Ahn?" I asked, beyond confused "What do you mean?"
"I always wake up before them" He explained "That's why I'm always up so early. I can't properly relax when I sleep with someone... Or I couldn't" Calum corrected himself "I guess I can now"
A smile immediately appears on my face as I replay that especial moment in my head. The London trip is my favorite one for many obvious reasons but for a lot of other simpler ones. Apart from being where Calum and I shared a beautiful night of love, filled with memories from the first time we've met, it was also where he introduced me to his sister - meeting the family is kind of a big deal -, where we found a especial hidden place just for us, where he took me on our first official date on a freaking boat, where we held hands in public for the first time, among a lot of other things. London will forever hold a especial place in my heart for many and many reasons.
"What is this smell?" I hear Drew ask, snapping me out of my thoughts
I look over my shoulder to see Lis and Drew entering the apartment carrying a bunch of bags and I'm quick to silence them before they wake Calum up.
