Sunday was spent with family. I had lunch with my parents, my brother Aaron and his long term girlfriend, Tara. After lunch, we all came back to my campus apartment and while Dad and Aaron watched basketball games with Jason and Drew, my mom and Tara helped me pack for my business trip to London. It was only a 3 day trip, but still mom said I should look fabulous every hour of every day.
"Look what Lis wore to go to Europe last year" My mom says showing me my best friend's Facebook photo
"It's true, Lis dresses way better than you" Jason yells from our living room
"She went to Paris Fashion Week mom" I reason with her ignoring Jason's comment
"She was working" Mom debates
"She works with fashion" I have to suppress a groan and Tara holds back a laugh "It's only three days, I don't need more than 2 jackets"
"Listen to your mother Gia" Drew mocks me "It's cold in London, you'll need your jackets"
I shut my bedroom door to prevent Jason and Drew from driving me crazier than I already am and give in to my mother's requests only to end my misery. She almost freaked out when she saw the cut in my face and I had to tell her that I accidentaly let a knife slip while cooking. Aaron gave me a weird look but said nothing. She gave me the biggest lecture and even went to the kitchen to show me how its done. Thank God I remembered to wear a long sleeved shirt to hide my bruises or else I would have to come up with a better excuse. When packing is done, we order pizza for dinner and they leave after saying goodbye and wishing me a nice trip.
Monday was a busy day at work. I had to leave everything sorted in the office for the time I'd be away and also had to prepare my notes and presentation for the meeting with our British clients. Anne would be replacing me and taking care of things till I got back. I almost didn't have time to grab lunch, so it was much appreciated when Anne and Trish showed up by my desk with cheeseburgers. I left work late for classes and the bus to campus took longer than usual. I couldn't bring myself to pay attention to whatever was being lectured that day so thank God for Liam for sharing his notes, allowing me to keep replying emails from work on my phone. After a very long day I just wanted to get home and go to bed but Drew and Jason had other plans in mind. I feel like crying the moment I open the door to our apartment and come face to face with Brian Sanders. Drew is playing FIFA with Kevin and Jason is smoking on the balcony with Zac. Apparently it's boys night. I go straight to the balcony, not even bothering to acknowlegde Brian's presence.
"Hey Zac"
"Whats up Gia" He greets me offering the joint in his hand
"No thanks. Boys night?" I ask looking directly to Jason
They could've warned me they were having guests. Actually, they could've had guests over tomorrow since I'm not going to be here.
"Not if you join us" Zac kindly says
"Not today" I smile at him "I have to wake up early tomorrow but you guys have fun"
I walk past the other boys in the living room throwing a quick "hey guys" before shutting myself in my bedroom. I love my friends but sometimes they are real idiots. Scratch that, they are idiots all the time. I change into my pajamas before jumping on my bed, ready to sleep. I unlock my phone to set my alarm when my eyes almost pop out of my head with what I read. I throw the phone away like it's on fire and let out a squeal. 7 new messages from Calum Hood. Oh my God. Calum texted me. He texted. Seven times. He texted me seven times. God dammit, I wanted to get home and sleep. How am I going to sleep after getting a text from Calum? Seven texts! What did he say? What am I supposed to answer? What do I even say to him? What if he sent the texts to the wrong person? Why does he have to do that to me?
