My alarm clock woke me up at 8am. I had a very long shower and got out at like 9am. I dried my blonde hair and just let it hang whilst I chose what to wear. I decided on a black playsuit with my cardigan. I wore my brown suede lace up high heeled ankle boots (what a mouthful!) and completed the look with my favourite red bandanna. My hair was shoulder length and had grown rather quickly considering I had to have the majority of it cut off about a year ago.

I brushed my hair and started to straighten it. This didn't take me too long and I was done within 15 minutes I'd guess. I wasn't aware of how fast the time had flown until I looked at the clock on the screen of my iPhone and saw the numbers '10:00'. If I wanted to take a steady walk to 'Jimmy's', I'd have to leave at around 10:45am. I held the phone in an awkward way, as I still had the straighteners in my hand. I attempted to turn the screen of my phone off, when it slipped out of my hand, which caused the straighteners to wobble and burn my palm.

''Shit!'' I shouted, throwing them onto the heatproof mat and sprinting to the bathroom. I swilled my hand under the constant flow of cold water for about 5 minutes, as I swore under my breath due to the immense pain.

As I felt the pain fade slightly, I got some cream from my bathroom cabinet and rubbed it in. I covered it in cling film and left it so the cream could do its magic. I tried my very best to make myself some breakfast one handed. I didn't really get hungry any more, so I usually just had a cup of tea and a biscuit, healthy I know. Then again, I had cancer. I wasn't healthy. So what did it matter?

I made my way to the café and I was exactly on time. It was 11am. I opened the door of the café and heard a little jingling sound as you do when you enter some shops. So the owner knows someone has come in. It wasn't too busy, there were about a dozen other people in there. My eyes wandered around the shop until they came across her. Jessie was sat on the stool by the bar, talking to Jim. She saw me approaching, she turned and smiled at me. ''Thanks for our drinks, Jim.'' she said, before picking up a tray and leading us to my usual table.

We sat down opposite each other and she passed me a cup and started to pour out a tea for herself.

''Emelia,'' she greeted me.

''Jessie.'' I replied.

''How are you on this fine day?''

''Not too bad thank you for asking, what about you?'' I couldn't hide the smile on my face, I was happy that she was trying to come across friendly. It meant a lot.

''Good thank you. And call me Jess, Jessie is what the fans call me, and you're getting to know Jessica Cornish, not Jessie J.''

''Ok, I'll call you Jess. Unfortunately, I don't have any nicknames.''

''I'm sure I could find something.''

I grinned and blushed, this was cute. Don't get the wrong end of the stick, in a friendly way.

''I got you a hot chocolate, because that's what you were drinking yesterday. Is that ok?''

''Observant.''

''I believe you have to be in order to get to know someone. Like when you get nervous, you fiddle with things.''

''I do?''

''You do,'' she confirmed, taking a sip of her tea. Then I remembered fiddling with the café menu yesterday.

''Well I guess you could say I observe then too.''
