“Gosh it’s been a long day.” Jackie said as she waved to the crowds.

“That’s what the campaign does to you.”

“I know but I feel more tired than normal.”

“Maybe you didn’t sleep well last night.” Jack suggested.

“No I was fine, maybe it was the jumping in and out of cars all day and shaking hands.”

Jack laughed. “Probably true, at least we can rest at the cape tonight before flying home tomorrow.”

“Yeah I suppose.”

Jack rubbed her back. He quickly sat up and leaned forward and tapped Jerry on the shoulder. “Do you have a bottle of water or anything?”

“Yes here Mr President.”

“Thank you.” Jack said before taking a drink. He then handed the bottle back.

“Are you alright?” Jackie asked.

Jack nodded. “I’m just warm….I want out of this suit.”

Jackie smiled. “I could help with that.”

Jack laughed. “Don’t you dare!”

When they got home they went straight upstairs, as much as the campaign was fun it was exhausting. “Jackie, do you want to discuss adopting?” Jack asked as he changed into his pyjamas.

“I’m sorry bunny but I’m exhausted. How about Air Force One tomorrow?”

“I think I’ll be in a meeting but I promise I’ll make time later this week.”

“Ok.” Jackie said as she crawled into bed.

Jack smiled as he joined her. Once they were in each other’s arms they fell asleep.

Air Force One

Jackie was sitting in the private cabin alone; Jack had been summoned to his office for a phone call with his advisors.

After a while the door opened and Jack came in. “Hi bunny.” Jackie smiled.

“Hey kid.” Jack replied as he lay down on the bed.

“Is your back bothering you?”

Jack nodded. “So let’s talk.”

Jackie went and sat down behind him and stroked his hair. “So I looked into adopting and we’d have to apply so a person can come and check out that we’d make good parents but we would be put on a waiting list.”

Jack nodded. “Let’s wait till nearer November.”

“I was thinking that.”

“It excites me though Jackie that we’re going to have another child.” Jack whispered.

“Me too bunny.”

They kissed tenderly.
