“I…I’m…what?” Jackie spluttered. “No….I can’t be…. We’ve always used….”

“Mrs Kennedy protection doesn’t always work….” Doctor French replied.

Jackie began to cry. “No….I…I can’t…..”

Doctor French took the First Lady’s hand. “Mrs Kennedy everything’s going to be okay.”

After Jackie composed herself she took the tissue from the doctor. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s quite alright Ma’am. Do you have any questions?”

“What was the pain I was experiencing?”

“It was just the baby moving and since you didn’t know it was a very uncomfortable pain. I’m surprise you haven’t started showing yet.”

“Yeah that’s true….”

“Would you like me to get your husband?”

“Yes please.”

Jackie took a deep breath. Five months? Really?

When Jack entered he sat down beside her and took her hands. “Jackie is everything okay?” Jack asked worried. “You’ve been crying is everything alright?”

“Jackie?”

“Jack calm down, what I’m going to tell you might come as a shock.”

He was staring at her with bold eyes.

“I…I’m five months pregnant.”

Jack froze. Pregnant? How? When? What?

“W…what?”

“Protection doesn’t always work.”

“Five months?” Jack asked.

Jackie nodded. “The baby moving was what was giving me pain.”

Jack kind of sat there like he’d seen a ghost. “Jack? Bunny?”

He snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her. “What?”

“Are you okay?”

“I’m a little shocked and scared in case we….” Jack mumbled.

“I know but Jack I’ll take it easy, I mean I’ve worked hard the last five months and nothing happened.”

“I know….I know.”

Jackie rubbed his hand. “I love you.”

“I love you too kid.” Jack said before kissing her.

“Maybe you should go tell Mr Hill and Jerry?” Jackie suggested.

Jack nodded and headed into the corridor. Clint and Jerry were standing. They got a fright when they saw the President he was really pale.

“Sir is everything alright?”

Jack hesitated. “Jackie’s five months pregnant.”

“Congratulations sir.”

“Thank you.” Jack replied. He felt happy but a little apprehensive at the same time.
